Most expensive piece of clothing?

A full-length mink coat that was my mothers. It cost $9,000 about 25 years ago. My mother & step-father traveled to Canada to buy it, as part of her formal installation as his trophy wife.

Yes, the coat is really warm, and I look spectacular in it.

My Wombats. The were around $100-ish canadian.

I have a pair of leather pants that cost $150, and they are probably the most expensive item I have.

However, recently, my good friend brought over some pants for me. She’s rather tall, so I get hand-me-downs when she shrinks them and stuff. Anyway, she says, “This is the most I’ve ever spent on a pair of jeans, they’re Levi and I got them in L.A. when I went to visit my mom.”

How much could they have possibly been? I’m dying to know. They are super-cool, and I know sometimes people spend $100 on jeans. But, that’s just not the kind of thing you can ask.

So, I* might * have two pair of pants that cost over $100 each.

It was bought for this race
here is a picture of one of the car we ran in 1997
Unfortunately the results are not online for races before 1997, nor can I find any pics of the earlier car. In the 1996 race we averaged 149.57MPH, and lost the 150MPH class to a guy who averaged 150.01MPH. :smack: We were clocked by the Nevada Highway Patrol crossing the finish line at 163 MPH.
As far as the cost of the suit goes, when a sponsor is paying, money is not that big an object, give me the GOOD ONE.

My doc martens are probably my most expensive piece that I paid for myself. My leather coat that my parents got me for christmas one year (on sale) probably has the most value.

I have a tailor made suit for which I paid $1,100 (dark navy with very subtle pinstripe).

There’s nothing quite like having clothing made just for you. The fit and finish is like nothing else you’ll ever wear.

Coats for me as well. I have several leather coats worth $100 - $300, and all bought on sale for considerably less.

After that are my Docs - $80 and I’ve had them for nearly a decade.

Then a brand new suit I got for Christmas - $80 with a matching shirt (first suit I’ve owned in a great many years; I got married in uniform to save cash).

Then a $50 sweater I got in NYC.

Then everything else is less than that.

I have two complete kilt outfits - one formal with the “Prince Charlie” jacket, one with a tweed daywear jacket (yes, that involves two kilts as well - the “modern” colors and the “ancient” colors). Each comes out to around $1000.

Other than that, my leather jackets are probably the most expensive stuff I own.

A $250 black leather bra and a $175 black leather waist cincher that I bought myself at a Leather S/M convention in San Diego about 6 years ago. But the most expensive thing I bought at that show was the $280 leather short sleeved uniform shirt I bought as a gift for my girlfriend (We have since broken up). She still wears it AFAIK. I still wear my leather gear when the occasion warrants it. The bra fits so well that I just couldn’t pass it up.
