Most inexpensive way to ship electric blankets

A friend is selling unused electric blankets she found she didn’t need on eBay. What would be the most inexpensive way to ship them?

She will have to research. 1) Box them up as you would to ship. 2) Weigh it and check online rates for USPS, UPS, Fedex.

USPS parcel post will probably be the cheapest. Then there is the issue of possible insurance and tracking.

Cut them into 4"x9" sqaures. These will fit nicely in a number 10 envelope. Put a .49 stamp on the envelope and mail away! As a bonus, she gets to sell more blankets!

Is it sad that I had to look up the current rate for first class mail?

You’ll also need the dimensions of the box. And you might be surprised; I had to ship something a couple of years ago and Fedex Home Delivery was cheaper than USPS.

Not at all, I had now idea what the current rate was. I bought a metric buttload of Forever stamps a few days before the last rate increase. So far the ROI on that dwarfs the bottom quartile of my stock investments, and it’s a sure thing.
