My brother has the most beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen. They are a burst of browns and gold and green and they twinkle. Now that he’s older it’s not quite so startling, but catch him in the right light and it comes right back out again.
I dated a guy in high school that had one hazel and one blue eye. He was a pretty thing.
Jane Seymour (the “Doctor Squaw” actress, not the dead-from-childbirth queen) also has beautiful green/brown mismatched eyes. Unfortunately she usually wears a brown contact lens on the green one.
Years ago at my old preschool job I knew a pair of sisters, African-American with deep deep brown (almost black) skin who had snow-cone blue eyes. Very startling. Kids and grownups stared at the poor kids; at first they would have a crowd trailing after them on the playground, then everyone got used to them.
I also used to know a guy, a redhead with those icy colored sort of eyes, except his base color was green instead of blue. Sort of reminded me of a crevasse in a glacier.
My eyes are sort of a blah blue-grey with a few gold flecks, but my spouse’s are a bright blue, almost like the blue in the Greek flag.
The one and only trip I’ve made to New York City was in 1998. I had volunteered to be a driver/roadie for a group of my friends in a traveling Drag King troupe. They had booked a Saturday night show at the Manhattan lesbian bar, Meow Mix.
We rolled into Manhattan from Columbus, Ohio in a caravan of vehicles on a Friday afternoon. We were all hanging out in the lobby of our hotel waiting for our rooms to be cleaned so that we could check in. Upon entering the hotel, the subtle scent of peaches filled my nose. While I’m usually a Jack and Coke drinker, I had an undeniable craving for a Fuzzy Navel, so I walked up to the bar in the lobby. I can’t remember the name of the hotel, but it was quite nice.
My first impression of the bartender was that she was about as skinny as my pinkie finger. Then she turned around…
In a thick accent of unknown origin, she asked what I wanted to drink while gazing at me with the most amazing amber-colored eyes. Seriously…it was like she had two tiny jars of the purest, most transluscent, luminous, sweet honey known to the world behind her long eyelashes.
I’m sure I sat there gawking with my jaw hanging open for an absurdely long time before I finally managed to pull it together and say, “Fuh clear throat Fuzzy Navel, please.” I sat there for the better part of an hour, eagerly paying $13 a drink. A few of my friends and the folks I was traveling with eventually joined me at the bar, as well as joining me in my unabashed gawking.
After sustained exposure to a half-dozen flirty androgenous lesbians, she did at least volunteer that her eye color was indeed natural, and she was from Lithuania.
My friend Jonathan has pale lime-green eyes, very clear and sad to say not attractive at all. They just scream WRONG. You look at the rest of his very ordinary and not unattractive face and then notice the WRONG.
I had a friend growing up who had the sort of very light brown eyes that people are talking about on this thread. Her hair was the same color as her eyes. She was very striking.
My own small daughter has huge blue/grey eyes with the longest lashes I’ve ever seen. Sometimes I just stare at her, wondering if her face will catch up.
I really like my eyes, they’re a bright olive green with a deep forest green rim and little golden specks around the pupil. Sadly, unless you’re less than two feet away they just look hazel. Sometimes when my eyes are really watery or I’ve been crying my eyes are a brilliant emerald green that reminds me of Harry Potter.
My brother’s eyes are a really light blue, like ice. I’m so jealous of him. Horrible, horrible eye sight though.
Then my friend Sarah has these deep coral blue eyes that I’ll just stare at for ages. They remind me of the ocean.
One of my cousins has golden-brown eyes. They were the same color as her hair until fairly recently, when her hair started darkening to the uniform mousy brown common to most women in our family. (The men are all either dark brunet or blond, for some reason.) I’ve only met one other person with eyes that color, though it seems fairly common in cats.
Did you know she was on the cover twice? They took another picture of her, ten years after the first, for a special issue. Apparently locating the woman was quite a challenge and the second picture almost didn’t happen.
When I lived in New Orleans, I was struck by the people who’s hair, skin and eyes were exactly the same color. I guess they’d be considered light brown, golden seemed more accurate.
My boyfriend’s eyes are a steely gray when he’s in a good mood. When he’s mad at something, however, they turn into this gorgeous shade of bright blue. He finally understands what I mean when I say “Your eyes are blue. What’s wrong?”
my eyes are like a really pale blue with brown flecks in one and a yellowy orange rim round pupil and black rim around the iris…when the sun hits them they go almost glass looking, people have asked me many times is they are contacts but they arnt:)
My eyes are kind of a deep denim blue, with a darker ring around the edge of the iris. I’ve had people get downright confrontational with me and tell me that they MUST be colored contacts. I haven’t yet turned the tables and accused them of lying about their hair/teeth/boobs, but it’s tempting.
