Share your unusual eye color

Inspired by this thread.

My eyes are kind of green/gray with a hint of brown or yellow. I don’t know what to call the color. My license says [checks license] hazel. I know that’s not accurate, but none of the choices is.

My eyes are the same color as my dad’s (my mom has bright blue eyes), and my daughter’s eyes are almost the same, though they may have a bit more brown, thanks to my brown-eyed husband.

What non-DMV-friendly color are your eyes?

I’ve seen others like mine*, but there ain’t a check-box for it yet. Right around the iris, there’s a circle of orange, and the rest of the pupil is grayish-green.

*-There was a commercial a coupel of months ago, where they would show two different items, and then show a shot of how they might combine, all against a white background. When they showed two eye colors, the result was basically my eye.

My eyes are bright green on the outside, darkening to chocolate brown on the inside.

They get greener as I become angry or otherwise emotionally charged. So many people have SWORN they can see them change with my mood that (coupled with mild sensitivity to light) I have taken to wearing sunglasses as often as feasible to avoid either freaking people out or telegraphing my moods.
The DMV lists my eyes as “brown.” :dubious:

My eyes are a light blend of gray, green, and blue when I’m in a neutral mood, with little flecks of darker gray, an irregular brownish area around the pupils, and dark gray rings around the irises. My eyes change color from gray to green to blue depending on mood and what colors I wear, and they look greener the closer you are to them. Most people say they’re blue. I say they’re green. I wear sunglasses most of the time I’m outdoors because I’m fairly sensitive to sunlight, even on cloudy days.

Not really an unusual color, but my eyes are such a dark shade of blue that they are frequently mistaken for being brown, or in really poor lighting, black.

They, and me manly runner legs are my best features, and you don’t generally see either unless you’re looking closely or I’m wearing a kilt.

The DMV says my eyes are green, but that doesn’t quite tell the whole story. They are more hazel on the inside and light grey on the very edges, with the green in between. On bright clear days they can look very blue, which is odd because my eyes are not blue.

That describes mine quite nicely; my license says “GRN”. (My father’s were blue, my mother’s brown).

I guess they are blue…normal blue. Although there is a sort of star pattern around the pupil, so that’s neat. Also, the pattern is a bit darker.

Both my parents have blue eyes, so my color was pretty much set in stone before I was born.

Grey. A little darker than the “quick reply” box. My grandmother’s were the same color.

My eyes used to be Paul Newman blue, now they are charcoal grey (almost black) around the edges and lighter grey in the center. My license says “BLU”.

Ardred’s eyes are brown and gold, with more gold than brown in sunlight.

Mine are blue with green flecks. I’ve often had people ask me if it’s my real eye color.

In their default state my eyes are a light blue with a dark blue outer ring, and brown flecks near the iris. They don’t stay that color, however, and wander around different shades of blue, gray, green and sometimes blue-green, acting a lot like “hazel” does in darker eyes - depends on what I’m wearing, if I’ve cried recently, if I’m sick or tired or emotional ect. Lots of people have blue eyes that change color this way (my grampy did, for example, but neither blue-eyed parent nor my blue-eyed sibling does) but there’s no term for this. Hmm.

My youngest son’s are the same. I don’t know where they came from, as both his father and I are very dark brown and there aren’t any grey eyes on either side. I absolutely love them though, they’re so unusual and very striking in the sunlight.

My older son has brown eyes like mine, but with a yellow starburst pattern emanating from the pupils. You can only see it in strong light but it’s pretty slick.

My eyes have a brown ring around the pupil, then the rest are green. They look bright green when I’ve been crying or when I wear purple eyeshadow. I like them, but I LOVE my middle boy’s eyes- they are bluish-green, like a tropical sea.

Green/brown/gray, though it says green on my state ID. One eye has slightly more green in it than the other, but I think I’m the only one that notices it.

Short answer–blue, though a friend once argued with me and insisted they were grey

Long answer–the outer rims are a dark blue/grey/green colour. Then they become a light blue-grey, and beside the pupils there’s patches of light brown/grey, kinda like a starbust pattern.

Heh. Everyone likes eyes.

Mine are dark brown, with a thin jet-black ring around the outer edge. They are that dark chocolate colour that you commonly see in Indians. My mother is Indian and I’ve inherited her eye-colour. My dad’s eyes are brownish-green.

So in the US, your driver’s license has to have your eye-colour on it? That’s pretty cool.

Mine are a grayish green with a rich brown circle around the pupil.

I used to say they were brown, then I thought it would seem cooler in personal ads and such to say they’re green.

My ex-fiance’s eyes were gold. Not enhanced by contacts, either - he wore contacts, but they weren’t coloured - I saw them myself. When I first saw him, I gasped, “Your eyes! They’re so nice and yellow!” On closer inspection, they were a funny golden colour. His license says “brown”.
(you know, the funny eye colour should have told me from the start he was a snake!) :smack:
Mine are blue-gray. Nothing unusual. I’d love to get coloured contacts to make them a bright, gleaming silver, though… oooooooooo!

Yes, but would that then grant you telekinetic powers?

::sits back, waits for someone to get the reference::
