Share your unusual eye color

Mine are brown. Plain old brown but my husband had green or blue eyes. They were either green or blue…and on the odd occasion, hazel. They seems to change colour with his moods. Green wasn’t the happy colour.

I was at work one day with my Turkish colleague, going over a document together, when she looked at me just as the afternoon sunlight caught my eyes a certain way, and she said, “Gözlerin bal rengi” — meaning “Your eyes are honey color.” It’s a nice Turkish expression for eye color.

Wow…maybe we dated the same person? I dated a guy with yellow eyes, it was freaky. Mine are boring blue/grey, but my boyfriend’s eyes are a beautiful light ice-blue.

Not unless he was from Federal Way. Never again… something in the water down there…

Probably what made his eyes yellow.

All I can think of is a book, called “The Girl with the Silver Eyes”. I read it in school, about a girl named Katie, I think.

Other than that, I got nuthin’.

Yeah, didn’t she make her teacher’s wart-hairs dance? That was a pretty cool book in third grade.

I love the idea of honey-colored eyes! And to think most people would just unpoetically call it “brown.”

My eyes seem to turn blue if I cry, but it might just be the contrast with the reddened white of the eye.

I did get green tinted contacts when I was 16. In sunlight, they made my eyes so bright green, people would come up to me on the street and ask me if that was my real eye color. I still kind of wish it was.

Dark grey, like smoked glass, or a shark. The colour reflects whatever I am wearing.

Photo’s black. A bit eerie.

Ditto, in fact I coincidentally posted that somewhere else yesterday.

I guess mine aren’t unusual except for the fact that they are very blue. My entire family has blue eyes. My mom’s and brother’s eyes are darker blue while my father and I have light ice blue eyes. My dad has the bluest eyes I’ve ever seen. Mine are second. I have a ring of dark blue around the outside of the iris, and one TINY brown fleck in one of my eyes - I didn’t notice it myself, I had it pointed out to me.

Once I went to the doctor because I had something in my eye. He looked in my eye and tried to remove the brown fleck. :smack: Eventually I had to ask him if that’s what he was seeing, and explain that the brown fleck is actually part of my eye.

I love reading about this - I’d like to see pictures of some unusually coloured eyes. I’m Googling now.

How about David Bowie???

Heterochromatia.

Mine have grey rings around the outside, and then are red in colour, with yellow specks, so sometimes they glow red, sometimes yellow hazel colour depending on the light. If I take a digital photo, a lot of times the red eye reduction wont help the photo any because thats the way they look - red. My license says brown. My husband has multicoloured eyes as well, which range from green brown and hazel specks, somedays they are very dark, some days they look very green. I think I inherited my eyes from my mom, her eyes look like grey marble, almost stonish colour, very interesting.

That would be it. I read it in third grade and spent the next two years in class (when I wasn’t surreptitiously reading or daydreaming) trying to develop TK and make the board erasers fly across the room. Then I discovered things like Newton’s Laws and life went downhill from there.

This is mine, too, except that the non-orange part of the iris is a blue grey instead. Oddly, the blue-grey and orange seem to combine to form ‘green’. If I ask anyone what color my eyes are, they say they’re green. In Photoshop, if I super-enlarge a small picture of my face, the iris pixels are green. What gives?

My eyes look just like Kenneth Branagh’s eyes.

Mine are blue/gray/green, changeable (although not according to mood, as far as I’m aware), with a yellow ring around the iris. Also, a bonus brown streak through one.

My learner’s permit listed my eye colour as ‘pers’, which is french for… light coloured eyes.

My eyes are brown around the pupil and the rest is green…
what color are my eyes? i always said they were brown but now im getting to think that they could be hazel.

So, Cin, how does it feel to have spent so many hours killing zombies in Left 4 Dead, only to have a thread of yours resurrected?

My boyfriend’s are a very light grey, the same shade as the bar that lists the post number and time in a thread. His license claims that they are blue. In black and white photos, they make him look a little like some kind of creepy zombie.

ETA. I guess I can share mine as well. My eyes are a very dramatically dark brown. That’s not that unusual, but it’s not the standard brown. It has been called black before, but it’s not that weird.

Which is appropriate considering this thread is going to suffer a head shot very soon.

Zombie have cloudy white eyes-kill zombie!
