Mottos (state)

In 1987, Oregon adopted the new motto “She Flies With Her Own Wings”.

I like it. We tend to be somewhat innovative, and this motto reflects that nicely, IMHO.

I don’t know if it’s their real motto, or just a license plate slogan, but it always cracked me up as a lad growing up in Oklahoma that all of the auto license plates had the slogan “Oklahoma is OK!” on them.

Person 1: “Hey… How’s the state of Oklahoma?”
Person 2: “Ahhh… it’s OK.”

Now that’s enthusiasm about your state!

By the way… Oklahoma Plays Nebraska at 12:00 EST this Saturday! Go Sooners!

Methinks there’s a story behind **lieu’s ** experiences in Alaska…

California’s motto by way of Jimmy Buffett:

“We got riots, fires and mudslides. We got sushi in the mall.”

Virtute et armis–By valor and arms

Enright3, Oklahoma’s motto is “Labor Omnia Vincit” (Labor Conquers All Things.)

State Mottos

Utah’s is “Industry”. Way to get creative there, Utah!

Kentucky, I think. “United We stand, Divided we Fall”. That’s how it’s printed on our flags. Not in Latin, just plain English.
