Hi! where ya'll from?

I have been on here since before Christmas and have become familiar with most of your nicks but I don’t really know where anyone is from…so how about listing your state, province or country and motto so I and new people will know. Come on dammit it won’t kill ya!

Me? I’m from Oklahoma

Motto: Where the men are men and the sheep are nervous…

no just kiddin I think our motto is kinda stupid…it is:

Oklahoma is Ok!

It’s proudly displayed on all bumper tags.

Our anti-littering message is even stupider…

“Don’t lay that trash on Oklahoma”

Taken from a 50’s sounding dip de dippity anti-littering jingle. Totally lame.
ahh but I love it here.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands. We don’t have an official motto, but “Don’t walk on the grass, smoke it!” comes to mind

I live in Roswell, GA now (North of Atlanta about 15 miles).

I grew up in Oklahoma, in a little town called Shattuck. Population 1,200. Sa-Lute! (Said in best Hee Haw voice) Then I lived in Tulsa for 6 years. Where do you live, aha?

I’ve lived in Chicago, IL my whole life.

Land of Lincoln.

Anyways, you know that little icon with the face and the question mark, if you click it you can see people’s profiles and see where they’re from.

Trying is the first step to failure

Edmonton, Alberta here and I have no idea if we have a motto.

We are, each of us angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by embracing one another

How about “Ralphland”, Sue?

Ontario here. Presumably the motto is “Yours to discover”. That’s what it says on the licence plates, anyway.

“I thought: opera, how hard can it be? Songs. Pretty girls dancing. Nice scenery. Lots of people handing over cash. Got to be better than the cut-throat world of yoghurt, I thought.” - Seldom Bucket

I am not sure where Shattuck is enright but I live in a small town close to the texas/oklahoma border called Hugo.

I know where Tulsa is tho!!!

California here…or better still Silicon Valley, puter nerd capital of the world.

I really try to be good but it just isn’t in my nature!

ooopss

saskatoon, saskatchewan.

“If anybody wants a sheep, that is proof that he exists.”

Atlanta, Georgia, now. (Poncey Highlands)

Grew up in Summerville, Georgia (or more precisely, on a farm in the rural community of Gore, GA, outside of Summerville).

Well, I’m originally from the land of nuts and fruits (aka California), but I now live in Michigan. The only motto I can think of is “Michigan, Home of the Potholes”

Shadowfox

“The dead have risen, and they’re voting Republican!” - Bart Simpson

Imagine the State of Oklahoma as a person facing you with their right arm sticking out. (Ok, so this person has no head or legs, but work with me here) Shattuck is right in the armpit of the state. About ten miles from the Texas border. About as close to the panhandle as you can get, without actually being there.

Well… “City of Champions” is on all the signs entering town.

Of course, a brief search through some of city hall’s websites has done nothing in helping me find anything which might be official.

Edmontonian here as well.

Hi
Born in D.C.
Grew up in Maryland
Now live in Surfside Beach, SC
moving, in three years, to Australia.

I think the SC motto is “Smiling faces, beautiful places.”
I like Maryland’s better - “Maryland is for crabs.”

Wurtland, Kentucky. Raht hea in the gud ol’ U S of A!

Um, sorry. I was channeling my next door neighbor for a moment there…

Motto: “Lung cancer? Whut the hell do them doctors know?”

Real motto: “The Bluegrass State”

When someone annoys you it takes 42 muscles to frown. But it takes only 4 muscles to extend your arm and whack them in the head.

Oops. Did a little research (read “web surfing”). “The Bluegrass State” is Kentucky’s nickname. The motto is:

“United We Stand, Divided We Fall.”

Original, huh?

Born in Bremerton, Washington (state).

Grew up in San Antonio, Texas.

Went to college in Denton, Texas.

Now living in Dallas, Texas.

Soon to move to Escondido, California.

Kool Phouka I am only 120 miles from Dallas just across the “Red.”

I like Texas’s anti-littering slogan…

Don’t mess with Texas.

North Carolina here.

I’ve learned that if someone says something unkind about me, I must live so that no one will believe it.
