Having ahieved extinction of desire and of individual consciousness, I am posting from the transcendent state of freedom known to you poor souls, condemned to dukkha, as nirvana. But in obedience with the precepts of karuna, this bodhisattva remains here to help with your own personal enlightenment.
I’m in southeastern Pennsylvania in a suburb of Philadelphia.
for some ridiculous reason it is traditional for the governor to change the state motto everytime a new one is elected
i think it’s “you have a friend in Pennsylvania”
for a short while it was “the UNcommonwealth of Pennslyvania”
Okay, here goes. Being a military brat(some say still a brat), I was raised all over the world, except China, Russia, and Australia.
I have lived in or been in every state, including Alaska and Hawaii. Been to Canada and Mexico bunches of times, spent a week in Panama, lived in Germany, Philippines, and Chile.
After I got married(to an AF guy who was SUPPOSED to take me to see the rest of the world) I’ve lived in San Antonio, Tx. and Omaha, Ne. And, San Antonio, and Omaha, and back to San Antonio again.
Here I sit, having just bought a house. It was here, or up in the COLD of Ne. I chose here, my bones don’t like that much cold anymore, though I still do.
Still wanting to get to Paris…
Changing my sig just 'cause…
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.—Anon.
I was born in St. Louis, MO, them moved to Alexandria, VA, then on to Minneapolis, MN, for 6 months, then back to Alexandria, then on to Cincinnati, OH, for 9 years, then down here to Sanibel Island, FL (hence my name), whose motto is “Do Enjoy, Don’t Destroy.”
And for Arnold:
Bodhisattva, won’t you take me by the hand?
Bodhisattva, won’t you take me by the hand?
Can you show me the shine of your Japan,
The sparkle of your China,
Can you show me?
Bodhisattva!
Bodhisattva!
I’m gonna sell my house in town…
Bodhisattva!
I’m gonna sell my house in town…
And I’ll be there to shine in your Japan,
To sparkle in your China,
I said I’ll be there,
Bodhisattva!
Bodhisattva!
Bodhisattva!

I was born in Iowa City, Iowa, lived in various boring towns in Iowa, and spent a few years in a boring town in Colorado before moving back to the biggest boring town in the state of Iowa, which is Des Moines, where I currently dream of living elsewhere.
(But not too far elsewhere…Midwestern Doper bashes are too good to miss.)
Yes, I have! My wife is from New Haven, and we spent ten years in Peru, stationed at Grissom AFB. We have three not-so-little-anymore Hoosiers born in Logansport.
