I don’t think we have a motto, eh.

Well the sign headed into town says Bienvenue…but I don’t think that’s it.

Any connection between your reality and mine is purely coincidental.

Girlbysea (AKA: ChiefScott’s GBS)

Claim to fame: the oldest English settlment in New York state. It’s also the easternmost township in the state, if you count Fishers Island. About 80 miles east of NYC.

R.J.D.

Born in Lenoir, NC (Furniture Capital of the South!!) to an British mother and American father. I now have dual citizenship. Whoo-hoo!!

Currently live in Johnson City, TN.

My life is excitement in its purest form.

I have a hobby. I have the world’s largest collection of seashells. I keep it scattered on beaches all over the world. Maybe you’ve seen some of it.

Like NTG, I also reside in New Mexico.
The land of Entrapment.
I finally got my visa to move to Colorado so in a couple months I will be near techchick68 (wutup?) instead of NTG.
Not that I have ever met either of them.
This big desert between Texas and Arizona has it’s charms, but I have been here way too long.
'Sides, my g/f lives in Co.
Anyway, I think there are a lot more dopers in Co.
There are like 5 here.
Including me and NTG.
This looks to be a long thread…

how did it start? well i don’t know i just feel the craving. i see the flesh and it smells fresh and it’s just there for the taking…

I myself am an incorrigible conlang slut. I love oral lex.

I’m from California, but have nothing to say about it. Thanks, Doob.

I was born in San Francisco.
Grew up there and in Petaluma (35 miles north of SF, in fantabulous Sonoma County).
Presently living/studying in Santa Cruz (60 miles south of SF - I’m only here for another couple weeks, though, YAY!). Santa Cruz may be the goofiest town on the face of the earth. I have a suspicion that the entire California steretype of surfers, granola-eaters, and new age meditators is based on Santa Cruz. It was fun when I was a freshman, but I’m really tired of it by now. Good thing I graduate in a couple weeks!
I’ve also lived in Jerusalem, Israel. Jerusalem’s nickname is the Holy City. I know, big surprise. I love Jerusalem, I want to go back.

BTW, Goshen is a Biblical name for Egypt.

“Don’t Do It.”

Indiana here, which for some reason is called the Crossroads of America -don’t ask me
I’m in Illinois now, Naperville to be exact and I have my own name for it - Home of the Rudest People and Worst Drivers in the World

I rode Omni in Springfield, IL

Currently living in the NE suburbs of Atlanta, along with (apparently) several other Dopers, including Doctor Jackson, who said:

That’s not a Peach Butt. It’s the . . .

(wait for it)
. . . hind quarter.

BTW, spoke-, depending on how long you’ve been in the Poncey Highland area, we might have been neighbors. Used to live in those grey apartments on the opposite corner from Manuel’s (nearly ten years ago now, however).

Before I came to Atlanta, I was born and raised in Arkansas. Clarendon and Fayetteville primarily, with stops in 9 other towns along the way.

Québec Province :0
Motto: Pissing off the rest of Canada.
Just kidding.

The motto is not just “Je me souviens”, as you can see on our licences, it’s
“Je me souviens que né sous le lys, je croît sous la rose.”

translated: "I remember that born under de lily (France) I now grow under the rose (England).

Flag: Fleurdelysé
Flower: lily (don’t remember which kind)
Animal: snow owl
Song: not quite, but “O, Canada” was actually written in French first and to this day only the French lyrics are official, unless they fixed that.

To Enright3, Dr. Jackson, spoke, Rackensack, and I believe Mouthbreather (though i don’t think he’s posted on this thread yet),

–hello to back home.

Grew up in a small town in Georgia - Statesboro, kind of near Savannah. (rushed to get out)
College in Athens at UGA (had no idea what I wanted to major in college so I took their scholarship).
Lived in Atlanta briefly to finish college after returning from my 6 month stint in England. My little bro lived there (Atlanta) when he was at Tech (now he’s living outside London).

Now living in Albuquerque, NM. Been here almost 6 years. Ready to leave. So is my wife. She lived all over (military brat), but her family settled in Atlanta (we met out here in NM). Both families are back east so we’re looking to move that way. Not Georgia; maybe NC or Virginia. Depends on what the job search reveals.

Where I’d like to be: where Coldfire is.
If I could live in Europe, I’d try the Netherlands (or Belgium or Ireland).

jeesh, I’m rambling…

I contradict myself,
I contain multitudes.
