Moustache wax

So I’ve been waxing my long handlebar moustache for almost four months now. I’m pretty happy with it, but I think it could be better.

I started out with a tub of “Colonel Ichabod Conk’s Moustache Wax.” Somebody bought it for me as a gag gift. I guess I showed them. But still, this seemed to be more of a novelty wax than a real one. The ingrediants were petroleum paraffin wax and fragrance.

So then I moved onto “Murray’s 100% Pure Australian Beeswax.” It’s been a lot better, but when it gets out, the wax gets a little harder to control. (Sometimes I’ll put the jar in the fridge un til I use it.)

Somebody told me recently that many middle eastern men use something else entirely, some sort of oil that hardens the moustache and will last an even longer time.

I’m looking for a new substance with which to wax my moustache. I don’t want any dyes or anything in the moustache wax either. Anybody have any advice? Know where I can get said product?

Did you have to get used to the scent of the wax under your nose and the feeling of stiffness in your moustache? I wear a moustache and beard in the fall and winter and a few months ago I tried a moustache wax for about a day, but found the smell and the feeling distracting.

the smell of Murray’s beeswax is very subtle and not a bad smell. I noticed the stiffness of the moustache the first couple of days, but now I don’t feel it at all.

Incidentally, a mustache is either a curse or a blessing in sweet corn season - it gets so messy I just tell people it’s an automatic buttering device…
