Movie Sequels that should be made but probably won't

Aliens vs Predator

The Program should have a sequel. I’d like to see how Joe Kane does in his senior season. I may have posted this in another thread but I can’t remember…

I’d love to see a second Spaceballs movie. I heard rumors a while back about Spaceballs 3, the search for 2 but it’s possible it was something my friend dreamed up.

Hamlet 2: The Awakened.

Though this wouldn’t be the first time this has happened for this movie, it’s been greenlighted:

E! says so!

Though the humans will inevitably show up and kill everything, I still think the predators should win just out of cool factor. When your shades can see through walls, your shoulder-mounted sniper gun needs only for you to look in the right direction, and your gloves would make Wolverine jealous, there’s no denying it: you are a BADASS!

Needless to say,if this movie isn’t rated ‘R’ for lots of blood, bodyless heads flying everywhere, and the like, it will probably suck. Let’s just hope Jerry Bruckheimer doesn’t get wind of this project.

This is feasible. There was a sequel to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory called Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, which goes into even more whacked-out sh** than the first one. Even as a child, I could tell that these books would be entertaining for an adult to read.

They could even rehire Michael Jackson!

 I don’t think he even qualifies as “white” anymore, though. He’s transcended race and gone straight to “freakshow.”

I’ll second the Big Trouble in Little China. Now with the new, Even Sexier[sup]TM[/sup] Kim Cattrall.

I’ll just add a couple more votes for Buckaroo Banzai* and The Rocketeer.

Buckaroo Banzai and the Rocketeer? That gonna be the third one, then?

Hanoi Xhan’s story does need to be told, but since we’re never gonna get the original Buckaroo back in the role… It’s just as well, I guess.

I’m sure someone in Hollywood could keep a string of Aliens vs Predator flicks on the big screen, making serious cash, if they’d ever let someone finish a screenplay before canning the thing and locking it back up for a couple years.

Wasn’t the Remo Williams storyline taken from a series of novels? I seem to recall hearing that somewhere along the line, and that the title of the flick was the big obvious pointer that it was intended as the first film in a franchise, which never got off the ground.

I’m afriad the box-office returns on Escape From LA killed our chances of ever seeing a second Big Trouble movie, which is a damned shame. (Hell, I even liked LA for what it was. So it was a dumb movie, it had Snake, and was fun to look at. I can live with that.)

One not mentioned yet:
I’d love to see a sequel to NightBreed, or even just a remake of the original that wasn’t quite so stifled by the production company. From things that Barker’s said here and there, I gather that the film was supposed to be the first in a series, but his troubles with those holding the movie rights while making the first film killed his interest in any further involvement, or something along those lines.

Yes, *The Destroyer series of books. Currently up to 130 titles. For more information than you’ve ever wanted to know about it, see this web site.

Not only were they hoping to do more movies, there was also a pilot for a TV series.

TWIN PEAKS- PASSION PLAY

When it become apparent that Dale is Bob & that real Dale is still in the Lodge, Annie & the Bookhouse Boys assemble in Glastonbury Grove to rescue him in an age-old Twin Peaks ritual.

Forbidden Universe, perhaps… I’ve always found it hard to swallow that every single last member of the Krell offed themselves in that wild night they had millenia ago.

I also like to think that maybe Doc Ostrow… nah, not going to give away my ideas.
