Movie Sequels that should be made but probably won't

Of course BUCKAROO BANZAI VS THE WORLD CRIME LEAGUE

but also I would like to see something like

RETURN TO VALKANVANIA aka HIYA JUDGE aka NOTHING BUT TROUBLE II - NBT really amuses me more than it rationally should.

I swear if I ever meet Dan Ackroyd I will ask him when NBT2 will ever be made- even if he does take a swing at me for it.

I just want a couple of the sequels that were promised to us…like Doctor Detroit 2 (speaking of Akroyd) and History of the World, Part 2.

I wouldn’t mind seeing a sequel to The Shining, either. With Danny all grown up and going back to The Overlook for some reason…that could be pretty cool.

Didn’t the Overlook burn down? Be kind of difficult to return.

Nice to see another fellow Floridian, {b]blessedwolf[b/]!

It did in the book, but not in the movie (the real movie with Jack Nicholson, not the fake movie with…other people). So it could be done. And it would make some money for Stephen King, which you know he’d like.

Yup…we’re taking over, aren’t we? Pretty soon we’ll be running the country!

The Graduate Mrs. Robinson’s in a wheelchair and she moves in with Benjamin and Elaine. . . .

Or, how about doing The Wiz with a white cast!

The Rocketeer 2

I’d love to see a new Evil Dead movie, although based on comments made by Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell, that’s about as likely as Microsoft switching to a Linux kernel. I guess Bruce was getting tired of the physical abuse Raimi inflicts on his actors. In any Raimi movie, if a character is being hit by something thrown from offscreen, odds are godd it was thrown by Sam.

Oh, and I second Buckaroo Banzai

Big Trouble in Little China. Remember the orangutan demon hidden in his truck at the end?

The Last Starfighter. He’s all grown up, and they need… his kid…

The Return of the Jedi.

Be careful what you wish for. I always wanted to see a Major League 2…until I saw Major League 2 :frowning:

I just watched ‘The Bourne Identity.’ Great mindless escapism flick! I think a sequel would be a natural thing, but I have no idea if this is being considered…

Office Space, not exactly a sequel but maybe the next in a series of office-related comedies.
Predator 2, some people didn’t like Predator 2, but I did and I want more Predatoring. Like Predator 2 it wouldn’t so much be a sequel of the 1st but a new story with the same general theme. If the Aliens v Predator movie ever gets off the ground, I will jump for joy.
Day of the Dead, or was Dawn the last one? Anyway I like zombie movies, but I hope a new one would have a higher costume and makeup budget.

But seriously, They can remake any movie they want, as long as Yuen Woo-ping is involved.

Be careful what you wish for. When I heard they were making a sequel to “Escape From New York”, I jumped with joy…and then I saw the film…pure cinematic vomit.

I wouldn’t mind seeing a Godfather part 4; considering how shitty the last movie was, a new one couldn’t possibly be as bad.

Oh, yes, definitely Rocketeer II!

Shallow Hal 2: Saving the World in Kirabas
(After all, Shallow Hal is the best movie of this millennium. And we never did find out whether Hal told Rosemary about the hypnosis he was under when he met her.)

Remo Williams: The Adventure Continues

Memento - If you’ve seen it than 'nuff said. Needs clearing up.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory - I just want more oompa loompas.

Pulp Fiction - Follow up on all the death and robberies.

Idle Hands - I’m a sucker for undead evil hand movies. Bring on the hand possession!
FWIW, there is going to be a sequal to Return of the Jedi There going to have episodes 7, 8, and 9 come out. I hope they dont suck as much as episodes 1, 2, and 6 did.

Also, Bruce and Raimi have said there will be “no more Evil Dead, unless Ash is like the most bad-assed, beer bellied, grey haired hardball biker” there is kinda deal. (paraphrased)

Hudson Hawk 2.

Yeah, but at least we still get more Evil Dead games. The first one was kinda ho-hum, but I’m hoping the second one, A Fistful of Boomstick, kicks ass. Voiced by Bruce Campbell, of course.

Actually, there will not be a 7, 8 or 9. After Episode 3 Lucas plans on moving onto other projects. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,75540,00.html
I used to know how to do it all fancy like.

Bladerunner - No point without Harry, though, and I’ve heard he wouldn’t touch it with a 10 foot pole.

Total Recall - At one point this was going to be made, but it fell into development hell.

The Thing (Carpenter’s) - There is a comic book and a game based on what happened after the film, which has a lot of possibilities.

Something to really close out the Romero Dead films. Twilight of the Dead, perhaps.

Buckaroo Banzai, obviously.

I’d like to see a return to see what the characters from Rushmore are doing some years later.
