Movies its ok for guys to cry at

None. Blimey, what are you people like?

Dumbo

Definitely. I’m not a movie cryer, but when Bubba died I totally lost it. And then when Jenny died I lost it again. Twice in one movie, compared to maybe 4 other times in all other movies combined.

Maybe it’s just Tom Hanks, but I also got a little emotional during Apollo 13 when he’s imagining walking on the moon.

Shane.

The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King

The Passion of the Christ

Thank you! I thought maybe I missed a memo or something.

The end of Mystery, Alaska, when the NY Rangers slap the ice in respect caused a funny feeling, like maybe if I was a girl I might cry  … And the end of Private Ryan too, but no actual moisture ever exited my eyeballs.

I do get a bit choked up at this myself. Also the ending of Secondhand Lions.

They’ve been showing this on cable lately, and quite frankly, I don’t see what the big deal is. I didn’t get a sense of connection between Williams and Caan, and I found their calling each other racial slurs very off-putting.

Ivylad has admitted to getting “something in his eye” at the end of Saving Private Ryan as well as Brian’s Song.

*Of Mice and Men *always gets me going.

Slee

Miracle.

The only movie that’s ever made me cry (well, since I was 10 years old, anyway) was Schindler’s List.

Grave Of The Fireflies will break the heart of the toughest mugg in the world.

A second viewing is too much to take for most folks.

The Wild Bunch? No, seriously…

Stranger

Sheesh, am I the first to mention ET?

Yes. And we wonder why you mentioned it.

However, it is alright to throw up while watching E.T.

:dubious:

Hmm. Seems like chick flicks we chicks cry over are all envolved with guys suffering and dying. And the guy flicks that involve tears involve…guys suffering and dying. Or some sort of wild life. Be nice if some guy manged to cry over us suffering and dying. Just saying.

The Champ with Ricky Schroeder and Jon Voight. When I saw it in the theater, I saw guys hiding behind snack bar napkins, sniffling, and commenting on their “allergies”.

The end of American History X & the end of Tears of the Sun, when the woman is thanking Bruce Willis.

I always get choked up at the end of Miracle on 34th St.

Som I’m gonna say Miracle on 34th St.

Socially acceptable? Who cares? Whatever wrings out your personal sponge is acceptable as far as I am concerned. Who says men shouldn’t cry? I’ve read that one of the reasons women generally live longer than men is that they do cry more often. Crying releases endorphans and much stress and makes you feel better. That’s why I wish more things did affect me that way. I can’t think of a specific movie, but I know that I’ve puddled up a few times when something reached me emotionally. So what?

That’s what I’m like. Take me or leave me alone!

As odd it it sounds, I got chicked up (though no ocular secretions,) during Angus when,

His grandfather dies.

A mediocre movie, at best, but the acting was actually really good and the way it was portrayed seemed real. And, of course, the laying down of the chess piece on the park.
