Movies its ok for guys to cry at

What movies does it seem socially acceptable for men to cry in? The one that I can think of , and personally “afflicts” me, is Saving Private Ryan. Love that movie, quite the tear- jerker.
And you?

Brian’s Song?

“I love Brian Piccolo…”

Old Yeller

Iron Giant

The Dirty Dozen.

(Apologies to Tom Hanks.)

Braveheart.

Field of Dreams.

The Pride of the Yankees. (Lou Gehrig Story)

Always gets me, especially as it was true. Gary Cooper and Teresa Wright were absolutrly perfect in the movie and Babe Ruth as Babe Ruth was fun.

Any movie in which the dog dies. I still get teared up watching, “Big Jake” when “Dog” gets killed by the guy with a machete.

And for me, “Truly, Madly, Deeply.”

I think crying at Big Fish is probably acceptable.

I saw a lot of guys cry at Platoon

Rudy (1993)
Shawshank Redemption
Star Trek II

I can live with that one and Field of Dreams, especially if your dad has already passed away. Both would do a number on those whose Dad is gone.

As long as someone mentioned Iron Giant, I will admit to tearing up at the end of Wrath of Khan as Scotty is piping Spock out into space to the Genesis planet and in Star Trek III as the Enterprise is destroyed. Both got me, yes I am a geek. I think I was the wrong age for Iron Giant; it was not a tearjerker for me.

Transformers: The Movie.
Spider-Man.

The original “Italian Job” when the Mini’s fall down the cliff.

Vanishing Point, where the the car blows up. Same with Dirty Mary Crazy Larry.

Grand Prix, when the Ferrari gets wrecked.

You get the idea…

King Kong , the original version. I loved that big ape.

Forrest Gump, maybe?

My dog Skip

The Alamo (when the sole survivor rides out through the Mexuican troops).
of course I was only a kid when I saw it…

Last of the Mohicans

My husband cried on a crowded plane home from Los Angeles while watching Finding Neverland, bless his heart.
