I haven’t seen fight club or memento. Both have huge followings but but I’ve also heard that both suck.
Goonies
Casablanca
Saving Private Ryan
Schindler’s List
Braveheart
Gladiator
and another Gone with the Wind
I have seen every movie mentioned in this thread so far except I have never sat through all of Citizen Kane. I may have seen all of it in pieces though. I’ve seen RKO 281 the movie about the making of the movie.
I haven’t seen The Matrix. I have a feeling I was stood up for a date to see Reloaded due to this fact. I’m now determined to never see it.
I’ve also never seen:
Citizen Kane
A Clockwork Orange
Schindler’s List
Casablanca
Any of the Godfather trilogy
Apocalypse Now
LOTR, the Two Towers
Police Academy
Lawrence of Arabia
Caddyshack
Anamorphic I’ve heard but not seen Chicago in it’s entirety, so you’re not alone, exactly.
I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen The Godfather and Godfather II. The Godfather III is not as good. Intensely interesting and I don’t even like mob movies. It’s the only time in Academy Award history that two different actors have won “Best Performance by an Actor” for playing the same character.
I’ve never see The Matrix.
Although I’ve seen Batman Forever and Batman Returns, I’ve never seen the first two Batmans.
Haven’t seen:
Gone With the Wind
Jaws
Any of the Godfather movies
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Citizen Kane
Pupl Fiction
Memento
Americcan Beauty
Any John Wayne movie
Taxi Driver
Friday the 13th
Nightmare on Elm Street
Goonies
Saving Private Ryan
Gladiator
Clockwork Orange
Apocalypse Now
Lawrence of Arabia
The Matrix
the last Harry Potter movie
and finally, one that hasn’t been mentioned yet:Blazing Saddles
I guess I’ve been deprived (I just wish Titanic was on there… )
I’ve not seen Chicago either, and for a similar reason… other movies I’m more interested in keep coming out.
Forgot Pulp Fiction – and have no interest in seeing it, either.
**ET
Titanic
Forrest Gump
Artificial Intelligence
Spiderman
Nightmare on Elm Street
Halloween
The Shining
Chicago**
The list is endless.
Still haven’t seen Goodfellas, though I think I can quote the “Do I amuse you?” scene from all the references to it I heard.
I first saw Gone With The Wind about ten years ago, playing in a movie theater (with an intermission!). What a great way to see that for the first time! Definitely better on the big screen.
Never seen either of the “Lord of the Rings” movies, nor do I care to.
I have never seen so much as a trailer for any of the Star Wars movies (including the first one). I only know who the characters are from all the toys and parodies done about them over the years.
The same goes for the Harry Potter movies (and books). Never seen one of them, never want to.
Lord of the Rings
Star Wars: The Phantom Menace
Star Wars: Attack of the Clones
I have never seen an entire James Bond movie. I’ve seen the same scene in one of the Roger Moore ones during the frequent “Bond-a-Thons” but it’s always at a time when I can’t really stop to watch a movie.
OK, so I had a big list here of movies, but then I hit backspace while not in the dialog box, and it all went away. Damn. Anyways, to somewhat recompiule the list:
Gone With the Wind
Any of the Godfather movies
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Citizen Kane
Memento
Any John Wayne movie
Taxi Driver
Friday the 13th
Nightmare on Elm Street
Gladiator
Apocalypse Now
Lawrence of Arabia
Any Marilyn Monroe Movie
Rebel Without a Cause (or any othe James Dean Movie)
Any Kubrick
Most Hitchcock
Goodfellas
Chicago
The Shining
Casablanca
It’s a Wonderful Life
Any Western Movie
Dirty Harry
Braveheart
Blade Runner
Fargo
Full Metal Jacket
Being John Malkovich
Exorcist
Spinal Tap
And many many others.
None of Spielberg’s TV work prior to Jaws – or the last 4 Spielberg movies (A.I., Minority Report, Catch Me If You Can, the Unfinished Journey)
And what’s the name of that Italian director supposedly obessed with big breasted women? Don’t think I’ve seen anything of his, either.
I have never seen Sidney Pointier’s movies unless he starred with Bill Cosby.
The first one that came to mind was “E.T.” - I didn’t think anyone but me & Dave Letterman hadn’t seen that one!
Add to that: most movies made before the 60’s (except “Wizard of Oz”), any kids’ movies made after 1976, any Quentin Tarantino flick, “Harry Potter” (and I haven’t read any of the books, either), “American Beauty”, “The Usual Suspects”, “The Matrix” (either one), “Chicago”, just about any foreign or “arthouse” films, just about any horror/slasher flicks, just about any stupid/grossout teen flicks, anything with Jennifer Lopez in it except that one with George Clooney (I already forgot the name), most summer blockbusters of the last 20 years,…oh, why go on?
I hate movie theaters, for starters. I also hate gratuitous violence and all the rest of that macho B.S. . My husband is a prude from a prudish family, so he won’t go to films that he knows have sexual content. Neither of us like anything “cutesy”. So that severly limits what is of interest to us.
