Movies are my thing. Generally if it’s a major motion picture released after oh say 1970(good or bad). I’ve seen it. Seeing as I wasn’t born then, it’s sometimes troublesome to find the movies I want to see earlier than that (especially if all that’s near you is blockbuster). I’ve really only seen 40 or 50 movies before 1960, and there were a BUTTLOAD of movies made before than - more per year than now (I think). see if I can come up with any big ones I haven’t seen…
On the Waterfront
anything with James Dean
the new one with Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer.
Blazing Saddles (my sister has it so there is no excuse)
Midnight Cowboy
In the Heat of the Night
All Quiet on the Western Front
Mutiny on the Bounty
Well, I’ve seen tons of movies, and I tend not to miss the biggies, but there are some exceptions, the primary example of which is Forrest Gump. I purposely avoided seeing the movie when it was in theaters, because people were talking about it everywhere, imitating Forrest’s dumbass voice, and just generally irritating me. I reasoned that perhaps if I told people I had no intention of seeing the movie, they’d leave me alone. The cycle started again when the movie hit video, so I kept on avoiding it, so sick of hearing about it was I.
So I held out for years, until no one was talking about it anymore and it came on cable so I wouldn’t have to pay extra to see it or anything. My thoughts when the movie was over: “eh.” Definitely not worth all the brouhaha.

All the movies named by sewalk, the last post I managed to copy and paste from before becoming stressed and starting to think about going to the video store to rent. Then I put in The Sound of Music, and all is right with the world.
Star Wars, Episode I: The Phantom Menace, or whatever the hell it’s called. But I only missed it because I fell asleep in the theater from boredom like 10 minutes into the movie.
