Movies that need(ed) sequels

Summer of '84 is the one horror movie that I actively want a sequel to.

The ending…

…The killer gets away and promises to come after the main character someday. Set the sequel some years later–I like “Winter of '91” for a title.

There should be either a sequel or a prequel to Edge of Tomorrow. Not because it is necessarily needed but because the title jumps out at you. It should focus on Rita Vrataski and would have to be called: “Edge of Tomorrow 2: Full Metal Bitch”

Along those lines, I’m surprised there wasn’t a sequel to The Mist.

Master And Commander, even had a tentative plan to do so, but apparently didn’t quite make enough money to warrant the sequel(s).

I mentioned this before here and on Reddit. The long awaited sequel we all need:

Breakin’ 3: Digital Jubilee

Okja (2017), the story of teenage girl and her beloved super pig, seems to call for a sequel.

The sequel to Alienoid (2022) still doesn’t have a release date, although it was filmed simultaneously with the first film. I am waiting!

Wait…Ninja III: The Domination wasn’t a sequel to Breakin’ and Breakin’ 2?

I’m still waiting for the sequel to Yakuza Princess. Don’t leave me hanging.

For that matter, two of Sho Kosugi’s children are both actors and martial artists. They should make some new ninja movies.

Looking at Kane Kosugi’s wiki page, it appears that he has. Just none that I have ever heard of.

I always felt there should a sequel to The Bodyguard. I thought Frank Farmer was a cool character, and I wanted to see more of his bodyguarding adventures. Drop the romance, and make it a full on action thriller.

Yes, and Doc Savage The Arch Enemy of Evil, Most of which had already been shot. But I may be alone here.

The boat sinks- again??

Passage to Marseille (1944):

Also "As Time goes by"- book.

Sadly, and maybe even make several films.

There’s been a movie prequel, numerous different sequels in comic book, video game, and proposed TV series forms, and constant threats of a remake, but THE THING (1982) should have had at least one actual sequel with the original surviving cast. I like the comic book idea, have it take place immediately after the events of the movie and have the base survivors be rescued only for the rescue mission to go horribly wrong.

Would it be called The Adventures of AntimonyAntimony?

They could call it . . . Colorado?

Master and Commander is one of my favourite films. Sadly I think the ship has sailed on a sequel there…

Highlander.

Big Trouble in Little China could have had a fantastic sequel!

Push (2009) was a well-made SF action thriller and was clearly intended as the first piece in a series. They left plenty of unresolved plotlines for the sequels.

But the movie didn’t perform that well and the sequels were never made. I guess Chris Evans wasn’t able to carry a comic book based franchise.

Great choice! That movie surprised me, I didn’t expect to watch more than 10 minutes when it suddenly grabbed me. A prequel is needed at a minimum.

There is a prequel of sorts. It’s the comic book I mentioned, which was set before the events of the movie.
