Movies with Arthropods

I need help finding all the movies with arthropods in them. Its for a school project and i need a movie for every letter of the alphabet. It doesnt matter how far fetched the movie is, as long as it has SOMEWhERE in it an arthropod. And just for clarification, arthropods are all insects, crustaceans, spiders and so on. PLEASE just list anything!

Even if its like “in one scene, a bug lands on the main characters nose…”

THANKS!

There was an old movie (late 70’s ?) called “Tarantula”. Also “The fly”, “The fly 2”, and “Arachniphobia”. There was also a real old movie about giant ants but I can’t remember the name and a movie about killer bee’s.

Arachnophobia!

I suggest you visit the Internet Movie Database and search for some common arthropods. Searchig for “lobster” returns an about 10 films with “lobster” in the title.

Ellimac007: the film that Palmetto72 refers to (the one with the giant ants) is “Them”.
There, the letter t is covered.

How much “wiggle room” do you have? Could Beetlejuice count for B ? Hercules for H (there is a Hercules Beetle)?

Others I have include:

Green Hornet (G)
There were three movies called “Daddy Long Legs”

If I come up with any others, I’ll post them.

Zev Steinhardt

Thanks everyone for all the ideas so far. They have come much in handy!

As for wiggle room. As far as i know, i have tons of it. You pretty much just need to relate it in some way back to arthropods.

Keep the movies coming!!

I don’t think it has to be in the title, zev. The movie just has to have an insect in it somewhere. So Beetlejuice would definitely count due to the scene in which he eats a cockroach. And “Psycho,” for example, could count due to the final scene in which the fly keeps landing on Tony Perkins face.

But ellimac, I have a suggestion. I think you need to do some groundwork first, rather than just asking for every possible film. Why don’t you go to the site linked to by bibliophage and compile as complete a list as you can come up with, and then post it. You can then ask for help with tough letters that you haven’t been able to find (Q? X? Z?).

A - Either the aforementioned Arachnophobia or Antz
B - A Bug’s Life
C - Charlotte’s Web
P - Phase IV
S - The Swarm

Man, that’s gonna be a pretty weird list…

Indiana Jones: Temple of Doom!

D- Dinosaur
L- Lion King
S- Seven

A - Arachnophobia
B - Beetlejuice
C - Charlotte’s Web
D - Dr. Doolittle
E - Emperor’s New Groove
F - FernGully
H -
I - Indiana Jones
J - James and the Giant Peach
K -
L - Little Mermaid
M -
N -
O -
P -
Q -
R -
S - Silence of the Lambs
T - Them!
U -
V -
W -
X -
Y -
Z -

As you can see, i have many blanks. THis isnt my complete list, but the ones i have researched so far.

H - The Helstrom Chronicle
M - Mothra (or The Mummy - remake)
P - Psycho (the fly scene I mentioned)

And a much better one for F is The Fly, of course.

A - Alien Resurrection (there’s a spider)
B - Believers (more spiders)
C - Creepshow (tons of roaches)
D - Deadly Mantis (well, duh)
E - Exorcist II: The Heretic (lotsa locusts)
F - The Fly (double duh)
G - Giant Spider Invasion (what, you expect ladybugs maybe?)
H - Honey, I Shrunk The Kids (ants, a scorpion, blah blah)
I - I Know What You Did Last Summer (crabs in the trunk)
J - Joe’s Apartment (I hear you can see a roach in one scene)
K - Kingdom of the Spiders (William Shatner. And some spiders too.)
L - Lord of the Flies (yep, there are flies)
M - Mimic (think I spotted the occasional bug)
N - The Nest (giant roaches)
O - Here I’m stumped. Anyone seen On The Beach?
P - Predator (scorpion)
Q - Again, you got me. I seem to remember poor hygiene in Quest For Fire…
R - The Relic (beetles)
S - Skeeter (giant killer mosquitos)
T - Ticks (giant killer ticks)
U - Ulee’s Gold (haven’t seen it, but I hear the main character is a beekeeper)
V - eh, from here it gets hard. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

ellimac: The great movie Repo Man has a crucial scene involving a discourse on “Plate-O-Shrimp”. Hope that counts for R, and definitely see the movie anyway!

Thanks, Max, for makin’ me laugh onto beyond. S’cuse me, I gotta go pee…

W - Woodland Cafe

And I think you really ought to use “Teenagers from Outer Space”, which stars a lobster as a “special effect”

explain to me:
what is Woodland Cafe?

thanks

It’s a cartoon. I’m reaching.
