I went to McDonald’s for lunch and they were “out of fries” so they gave me two hash browns instead and it was AMAZING. This should be an option at all times. I don’t even care about All Day Breakfast, I just want hash browns available all day.
OK, just had a really weird thing happen. I forgot what day it was and what I was doing - other than holding Toby. I think I may have dozed (woke around 1 and never really got back to sleep.) So I’m discombobulated… It’s scary…
I’m so sorry to hear about things with your dad, sunny. Hugs to you.
FCM, that does indeed sound scary! Lack of sleep maybe? I once started hallucinating when I was carrying my daughter around in the middle of the night when she was tiny and I was incredibly sleep deprived. I hope you are re-combobulated quickly.
It has been a day and a half. The husband unit is off at the dentist and I have the house to myself. Too bad I’ve gotta work. Pesky money keeps getting in my way. Too bad I’m not being paid to redecorate my house or dig posts outta my yard.
Yesterday was the first day my mother’s house was on the market and already the realtor has scheduled, since yesterday through tomorrow morning, at least fourteen showings. The deadline for the applications is Wednesday at noon. Sounds as if the house is going to go fast.
Most likely. I woke around 1 and never really got back to sleep. I think I dozed and had some weird dreaming going on. I think I’ll sleep with Mel tonight. But I got Toby delivered to his mom safely, so there’s that.
Not sure what we’ll do for supper - maybe go out?
I have that same problem myself!
Good luck with the insurance mess, I hope it gets settled soonest.
Grumbles even louder. I feel so bad for the poor dogs, they want to be with their family so much and they sit out there and cry when they can hear the kids playing in the back yard.
Well dang, nobody wants an adventure like that!!!
When we moved here, I bought a couple of large metal ash trays with lids so the wind wouldn’t blow my butts out. Then I quit smoking tobacco but kept using the ash cans for my pipe. Then I started dropping other stuff in there, like bits of paper and dead-headed flowers because I was too lazy to walk another 6 feet to a trash can. Yeah, it was a fire hazard but I always put the metal lid back on the ash can so if I did start a fire, it would suffocate.
All was good until the day our poor housekeeper was taking a quick smoke break and didn’t look into the can and see that it was half full of dry paper and plant matter. She also didn’t put the lid back on when she was done and when she looked out the kitchen window to see flames, she ran out the door and grabbed the hot metal ash can with her bare hand and threw it out onto the gravel.
Moral of the story: Get an ash can with a lid and always use the lid.
I’ve actually watched a couple of her shows. She “de-clutters” rich hoarder’s homes. These people have closets full of clothes they have never worn and garages full of assorted toys they got bored with. Hoarding is a mental disease, cleaning out the closets is a band-aid.
I have much twisted fun with the sparking joy phrase myself.
That sucks. Bad neighbors are horrible and lazy cops just make matters worse.
It is still horrible windy out here and I really do need to suck it up and start digging a pomegranate tree hole. I’m kinda waiting until around 2 because that’s when it will be the warmest. I might not get it finished before my hip blows out, but I should be able to get a good start on it.
That will give me time to do some bead work on my current project. I can’t do beading after dark anymore, I need full sun.
I’m sorry things are going downhill at a clip with your dad sunny.
I missed you nellie! I’m glad you and your sister are having fun though. I hope that you get the bill straightened out. It sounds exhorbitant.
Moooom, when I go to a smart casual event, it’s usually slacks and a decent sweater / top or a casual skirt with the same.
There were thunder boomers here for most of the morning. That means that our grass will be up to my thighs before it gets cut, likely. It was cut during the warm spell in late February and hasn’t been since. We’ve all made complaints to management. I did see that sticks were picked up today though (usually, the lawn guys don’t pick up anything that won’t stall the mower). Maybe once it dries off, they’ll come out with a bush hog and a hay rake. ![]()
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
Yup, looks like I’m gonna need to mow the lawn this weekend. It was snowing a few days ago. Ugh. Before mowage, must needs to go around the yard and remove all the tree bits that fell off over the winter. Looks to be a lot, but I haven’t ventured into the back part of the yard in months.
I get to take the truck in to get a new muffler tomorrow, hoping that’s all it needs.
FCM Would “smart casual” involve a pocket protector? Maybe a slide rule in a snazzy holster?
Howdy Y’all! OYKW < snerk > played with his junk < snerk > and even has stuff to be tossed and stuff to be given to the church yahd sale which will be at the end of the month. He says he will continue until he gets through it all. He best, bein’ as it is all over the back porch. I got laundry completed and went over to the church house and put new wicks in eighteen candles and filled said candles so they are all ready to go for Sunday. Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services also got firmed up. We supped upon leftovers and all is well.
Smart Casual? Does that mean a sweatshirt or tshirt without a stain?
I have read all but my level of retention is that of a gnat, so yays, boos, hugs, noogies, trouts, chitlins, and how you doin’s all around, as needed.
Evening all. Did my exercising, watched soccer, and did one of my “Goalkeeping 101” classes for a bunch of 8-9 year old girls. So that pretty much kept me out of trouble for the afternoon. Oh, and I actually vacuumed the house, and then emptied the cylinder and cleaned the filter…such a bundle of activity…
Smart casual for me are slacks and either a polo shirt or dress shirt without a tie and the top button unbuttoned. Most of my dress now is snark casual…
Cupcakes, that’s quite a demand for a house; maybe a bidding war will drive the price up…
boo fae, a bit more of an adventure than you planned on, eh? Be safe and enjoy; I’ll be out that way about a month from now.
Holy Rascal, well, doxies do have a very penetrating stare…but jeez, I would be embarrassed if I were those cops. Oh BTW, welcome and don’t be a stranger (you can be strange, however, it’s kinda part of being a MMP’er).
Wheelie, haven’t been a baseball fan for some years now, but I still have fond memories of the left-field bleachers in the old St. Louis Cardinals park.
Quietly, if the cops come for you, we can be your character witnesses…after all, we are a bunch of characters…
OK, Mac-n-Cheese is happily assimilating and the house is fairly warm and comfy, so onward into the evening. All y’all take care.
Howdy all still alive. Working on building a large raised bed for some tomatoes and peppers and whatever else I have space for.
Sunny so sorry about your Dad declining.
FCM remind where cruise is going. Y’all have a nice relaxing time.
Nellie yay for sisters. I need to go visit mine one of these days.
Ok off to check if the dishwasher is full enough to run. I also think I will sleep with Mel tonight. I have gotten into a bad habit of staying up all night and sleeping all day… The world just does not work that way.
Have a great rest of the week all.
I am never prepping for a colonoscopy again. Never. Ever. Nope. Nada. Nyet.
I scored an appointment for teeth cleaning today! Normally, I wouldn’t be happy about it, but I really need to get it done before we leave next month and my dental office is already booking into June. But they had a cancellation, so yay me.
I wouldn’t cry if that happened, but still that house holds a lot of memories, even though I never lived there. It is in a nice area too.
I went to a trivia game toghight. It’s at a local microbrewery/ restaurant. In the before times there was a group of us that played together but it’s broken up. I went last Tuesday and the group I found that let me play finished 6th out of ten. Tonight the group I played with was first! Yay us. The one category I was really able to help with was about the seven wonders of the classical world,
Much sympathy. At least you won’t remember the procedure.
I hope everything comes out well.
I see what you did there.
Looks at time between messages. Cracks up. Of course YOU did ![]()
I’m waiting on the results of a Cologard test I sent in. That was not fun but it sure was less physically exhausting.
Seriously though, I hope everything tests negative.
My sister is sleeping. I hate to think of her leaving tomorrow, so I’m not going to. She keeps saying she had a blast, so that’s good.
I hope she doesn’t get stuck in Dallas. There are severe thunderstorms forecast for her hometown at the time her plane from Dallas is to land, so they may cancel that flight I’d rather they cancel if it’d be a rough/dangerous flight, though.
Got a call from the eye clinic. Doc says no reduction on fitting cost. Gee, thanks. I’m going to call tomorrow to ask if I get a refund if the doc is unable to fit me with a piggyback lens. This whole thing is very iffy, as nobody’s been able to fit me with such a lens before, so I’m not inclined to spend $750 for 40 unpleasant and unproductive minutes unless I can get it refunded. But I REALLY want to see better. I don’t think my left eye is doing too well. I can’t see out of it like I could a few months ago.
Today’s weather included snow, hail, rain, wind, and sunshine. And now my furnace isn’t working right. I have to crank up the thermostat to 80º to get the temp to 68º. My sister is freezing. She has four blankets on her bed.
And you don’t have to fast or spend days on a low-residue diet.
**
Bring her here. I have plenty of food, and that bottle of tequila isn’t going to drink itself.
I thought it meant a Harvard sweatshirt.
Cupcakes**, congrats on the trivia win!
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.
Glad you’re having a good time with your sister, nellie.
