MS Flight Simulator X Deluxe Question

I have a used copy which includes the Acceleration Expansion Pack.

Naturally the product key doesn’t work, so I just spent 45 minutes trying to buy a new one from MS’s product support department the result of which was they can’t sell me a key, because the game is obsolete and there’s no support for it anymore.

Okay, fine. But then I asked her what if I found a new one on the shelf and bought IT, would the product key work and she said no it would not, even if I found one.

This doesn’t make any sense to me, for a place to sell you a game with a product key which won’t work, so I posted this info on the Flight Sim Forum, and was told to try again with someone else because they’d just created a whole batch of new keys, because of the demand.

Is there anything else I can do?

I know I can play a portion of the game, but my grandson wants to play and we were getting ready to add a joystick and other neat stuff.

Also, you may want to take a look at the new Microsoft Flight. It’s due out tomorrow and it’s free to play.

It’s also pretty fun.

I’m wondering if MS is pissed because I bought a USED copy of FS X Deluxe or maybe the GOLD edition is the only one still available?

The MS Flight looks VERY interesting, and I love first person games. Especially those that include all aspects of every flight that a pilot deals with.

I know there are some non-MS FS games one can download, but the reviews don’t show them to be that reliable as to technical stability.

Anyway, thanks for the advice and links! I’ll definitely check them out.
