MSNBC: why not just rename it "The Prison Network?"

Okay, so what’s the deal with all the prison shows aired on MSNBC? Except for a few news broadcasts, Keith Olbermann, and reruns of NBC news programming like Dateline and Meet the Press, the cable network seems to air almost nothing but prison and crime shows. Dish Network doesn’t have any solid news channels like CNN International or BBC World News, and the shitty quality of news programming may be enough to drive me to do the unthinkable, and swap satellite for cable.

Are you on the west coast? I figure they schedule for the east, and don’t understand that when Olbermann is on at 8 their time, we’re still on our way home from work. Then it’s Felon Idol until the reruns start at 9, by which time we’re watching Law and CSI Trek.

MSNBC - Must Show Nothing But Crime

Are you on the west coast? I figure they schedule for the east, and don’t understand that when Olbermann is on at 8 their time, we’re still on our way home from work. Then it’s Felon Idol until the reruns start at 9, by which time we’re watching Law and CSI Trek.

I must keep MSNBC’s ratings up then because I’m hooked on Lockup. If I’m flipping channels and it’s on, I have a compulsion to watch it.

I just moved and don’t have cable anymore, but Lockup on MSNBC is going to be one of the shows I miss the most (along with Keith Olbermann, South Park, The Shield, and the Colbert/Stewart block). That prison stuff is fascinating!
