Unreal Tournament…
The best. We could play capture the flag and team deathmatch.
Without a doubt, the definitive multiplayer 3-D shooter in the industry at this time.
I can’t get enough, I am truly addicted to that game.
Hey kinoons, where are ya when I need ya to back me up?
“Winners never quit and quitters never win, but those who never win and never quit are idiots.”
A topic designed to pull me out of lurking, and actually register after all this time…
I play mostly Age of Empires II (AoK) with a group of friends from a different message board, but not on the M$ Zone anymore after some bad experiences with friggin idiots. Unfortunately, that leaves me a bit limited when it comes to people to play against.
So, [hint, hint] if anyone wants to get a game together, my ICQ number is in my profile, and I would be more then willing to unleash my Byzantine Cataphracts. [/hint, hint]
Oh, and Falcon; did you ever play Sid Meier’s Alpha Centuari? Much the same game as Civ II, but with a bit more of a sci-fi feel to it. Made by Firaxis, instead of Microprose. I played it for about a year and a half, and have just finally stopped playing it (mostly due to other games taking up my time).
Women are amazing creatures - sweet, soft, gentle, and far more savage then we are.

I would have to agree with lexi there. Unreal tourny just plain rocks. The weps are great, its a fast paced game, and some of the different games allowed (assult is pretty sweet. Unreal is the way to go

My multiplayer game collection, in no particular order:
Unreal Tournament
Tribes
Half-Life (and Team Fortress)
Duke Nukem 3D
Jedi Knight
Age of Empires
I’m mostly into UT at the moment, but I’m more than willing to play any games that I have. Or, if there’s a significant following for some game I don’t own, I have no problem with going to buy it.

Half life? Did someone say halflife? Go Half Life! Don’t forget Counterstrike! Team Fortress is… Well, I don’t like it as much as the other two.
I sold my soul to Satan for a dollar. I got it in the mail.
I still have Starcraft around here somewhere, but I stink at it. . .
Anyone here play Age of Wonders? Not related to Age of Empires. It’s a turn based strategy game with an option for live net play or play by email, and it’s my current favorite. I wouldn’t mind playing that. . .

If a bird doesn’t sing, I’ll wait until it sings.
A quick aside, since someone mentioned EverQuest, and Falcon left such a nice opening…
I work for Verant Interactive, the company that designed EQ. I’ve never played the game, but I theoretically have a free account, so I’ve been considering trying it out. If any of you EQ folks would be willing to handhold a newbie for a level or ten, I’d appreciate the company.

Don’t play Everquest.
Yes, it’s a fun game. It’s just not worth stressing out to the point of tears. . . and believe me, you will reach that point sooner or later.
The crowding and technical problems are so bad that almost all of my friends have cancelled their accounts. One of my friends is actually working on writing an emulator that will let him run his own private games on a network without paying for an account.
I apologize for being so blunt, Aura, but Verant sucks. Their idea of “patching” something is to stand back and throw code at it until it works. One of their “patches” introduced a bug that crashed anyone with a Soundblaster Live sound card. According to one of my friends, this bug has been officially “fixed” three times now and still does the exact same thing!
Before you say it’s just his computer, let me relate my own experience. I have a Soundblaster Live. After the patch introduced the bug, I faithfully updated, upgraded, and did everything the techs told me. Nothing had any effect on the bug.
I waited two weeks for a fix. During these two weeks I could not play the game. At all. Period. After two weeks, I cancelled my account and snapped the CD in half. My friend (who is more fanatic than I am) is still waiting for the bug to be fixed. It’s been something like three months now.
Verant’s “patching” process reminds me of a blindfolded chimpanzee throwing chunks of shit at a wall, attempting to paint a Picasso.
Yes, I’m upset. It was a fun game, when I could actually play it. . .

Another vote for Unreal Tournament!
Wow, Sylence… sorry to hear that. I wasn’t aware that anyone was experiencing such problems.
I’m not going to try to defend the company’s practices; this is neither the time nor the place, and anyway that’s not what they pay me for. I’ll just note that I disagree with your assessment, and leave it at that. (If you’d like to discuss the topic further, feel free to contact me via email.)
So… UT deathmatch anyone?
