Munchkin Mini Mafia

Checking him for magical items. It was a pretty random choice between players not drawing a whole lot of suspicion.

I’m assuming you mean **tdpatriots **here, right?

Yes, and illusionist instead of magic-user, as well.

Of course, illusionist is actually worse for the town: magic-users are essentially a neutral role. Illusionist, with the possible exception of my own role, is one of the worst for the town.

Boozy: I see no value in revealing my investigation targets until

a) I have been cursed (I have a day to reveal it)
b) I am facing a lynch (I will let you all know my targets before I go)
c) A townie I have investigated is facing a lynch
d) I find someone scummy

I’m more than willing to reveal if there is a general agreement, but I don’t really see any advantage n doing so now. As I see it, endgame is won by having many confirmed townies. If I were to tell you now that I have succesfully investigated pedescribe, what would prevent scum from merely cursing pedescribe?

As a fellow magic-user, may I ask why you did this? The only thing you can learn with that action is how many items he has (*before *the effects of the turn). AFAIK, we all started with one. What were you hoping to learn?

Yeah, this works… unless storyteller or I kills you… or anyone with one of the killy-night weapons uses one on you, and we lose your info.

Hmm… Good point Boozy… I’d like to know what everyone thinks I (and sachertorte) should do - reveal or keep secret?

Second: Are items in the hoard really a problem? I mean we are all able to watch the hoard, so we could theoretically make sure scum didn’t get anything out without being detected (and one of the most powerful items are already in there (?) )
Downside is that it excludes other actions naturally.

I think we need to decide what to do about dead players’ items. Obviously right now, we don’t have any confirmed townies, so I think giving the item to any player would be a risk. Again, given that everyone is able to watch other characters something could be set up up as well. And to complicate matters even further lawful characters don’t want the items given to chaotic characters.

What ShadowFacts said. And I’m surprised you didn’t give your results, since they’re almost assuredly “1”.

It’s not convenient for Sachertorte, is it? It gives people the basis to imply he’s Evil and faking it.

There are some pointers against that. One, an investigation (assuming that’s what Sachertorte actually did) has a base 1-in-6 chance of success. This is improved by Sach’s racial ability, but it’s still probably less than 50/50.

Two, if Sach is Evil, he already knows the answer to every investigation he might make; so he could easily claim to have investigated X and supply an accurate result, while in fact placing the curse n his target (just in case any nosy passerby was Watching Sach to see who got investigated).

Three, for “nosy passerby,” read “MHaye.” I Watched Sachertorte last Night, and saw him fail in an attempt to use a magical power on another player, who was not TDPatriots.

Well, so we know he didn’t curse him, right?

That is the conclusion I would draw, yes.

Boozahol, I’ve got another question about this quote that I should have asked you earlier. To what Amulet are you referring being kept from the hoard?

I agree with your points here completely, and had been planning to respond to **Hockey **along similar lines (minus your Watching stuff).

Question: I’m assuming you know the identity of the player who **sach **did target, but are just not disclosing it? (This is not a criticism of that, just a question).

That would depend on whether there is a designated killer amongst the Evils wouldn’t it? I’ve sent Pleo a pm asking if this is the case. I wasn’t sure if that was one of the rules things he said he wouldn’t answer in game.

Well, whether there’s a designated killer or not, assuming MHaye is telling the truth, last Turn sachertorte did not curse anybody.

Anybody else feel like a Mafia Virgin again?

Yeah, completely. Now how’s come when I’m here at work and bored out of my mind there’s nothing happening, and yesterday there was a tornado when I was out all day?

Nit-pick much. Yes, if MHaye is telling the truth then sachertorte did not himself place a curse on tdpats last night. However, if the placing of the curse is not an individual specific thing then this datum point is meaningless. Happy now?

Full disclosure: I am not in anyway implying by this statement that I believe that sachertorte placed a curse on tdpats, prices vary depending on location, offer not available in Alaska or Hawaii or any locations that worship heathen gods (see attachment 47.2.3.b.z), interest rates may seem larger in the rear view mirror, I have not actually tested this product, and of course YMMV.

I may have misunderstand the rules. I was of the understanding that some items were magic, but some weren’t. Some items specifically say magic in their description, but some don’t.

Now I see that the header says Magic items. So I was pretty much wasting a turn. :smack:
