Munchkin Mini Mafia

Nevermind, another re-read makes it clear that self-nullification is indeed an option.

Nullification does more than remove the charges, it destroys the magic item completely, so that it doesn’t count toward victory conditions. Magic items without charges still count.

I’ll play.

Yay. The mafia dessert section is complete.

Last in.

Booze and chocolate who could ask for anything more?

Pisser, just missed it.

Put me down for a sub!
ETA: And now I see there are no subs. Double pisser.

Well you could throw some sex in too and a couple of cage dancers but maybe I’m being greedy

Pleo, may I be spoiled please?

I don’t have time to play this but I really wish I did - it looks like it’s going to be a good one.

I’m in two games Shadow can have my spot.

Good luck!

/confirm.

And, if I understand the Ring of Limited Wishes correctly, couldn’t a character who has it just alternate recharging the ring and using any of it’s actions every other night? In normal games, I imagine Pleo might disallow this… but this is Munchkin, where vaguaries in the game design are all part of the strategy.

Role received.

Now for some lute.

No item works infallibly. Each use of the Ring has one chance in six of failing.

From the rules posts. Firstly, the Ring has a High chance of working :

And a High chance means?

Sooner or later, the recharge attempt will fail.

So it sounds as if your idea should work, until the die comes up 6.

Confirming my PM.

storyteller, did I see you were looking forward to an uncomplicated game?

I’ve had to print out the rules and sub-rules for this one. I haven’t had to do that since Pleo’s last game.

/confirmed

Good idea, Hockey about printing…

/in. And confused.

Got the PM, but as many others a bit confused by the setup  Looks fun though.

Rules clarifications:

When you “watch” someone, you learn who they targeted and whether they used a magical or physical effect and whether or not it was successful. You learn the same information about anyone who targeted them. Assuming the dice rolls come up in your favor (even chance for each). So your watch results will have this form:
Pleonast successfully used a magical effect on Almost Human.
pedescribe failed using a physical effect on Pleonast.

“Magical effect” referes to any magical class ability or magical item effect. “Physical effect” is analogous.

Confirmed.

Well, at least we don’t have to debate role-claims.

According to the rules there is a 5/36 chance that there are 3 Evil Characters
a 26/36 chance that there are 4 Evil Characters and
a 5/36 chance that there are 5 Evil Characters.

The timing of events is novel. The cursed player (killed by scum) doesn’t die until just before the next turn’s disintegration (lynch), but the cursed player will know that death is imminent.

  1. The person who gets cursed must announce that he was cursed. Only Good players will get cursed, so this will serve as alignment information for the Turn. Theoretically, Evil characters could lie and say that they were cursed, but I don’t see the utility of doing so. Lying about being cursed doesn’t seem like a good idea*.
  2. The delay in the Cursing Action means we will have access the results of the Cursed’s action from the previous Turn.
  3. Ties result in multiple Disintegrations. This is a very powerful loophole. If we can get a large number of confirmed Good-aligned players, we can use ties to mass-kill the unknown set. Of course, since there are multiple opportunities for additional kills, this loophole may not be as helpful as I might think.
  4. The Lawful-Chaotic win conditions are not mutually exclusive. Both conditions can be met simultaneously. I’m not sure what the strategy should be for this. Right now, I’m ignoring it.
  • The only loophole I can here is an Evil no-Curse on a Turn, Evil false-claims cursed, then an Evil Cleric feigning a cure of the curse; but I don’t see such a gambit being a compelling scum-ploy as that is quite a bit of exposure for little gain. Nevertheless, we should remain aware of the possibility.

YOU ROCK!! Thanks!
