Agree. I have heard the name Sabrina Carpenter, but had never seen her. She worked well with the Muppets.
I’d like to see a list of all the humans in the audience. I did find a few names, and probably most of them I won’t know, but I am curious.
And there were some tears of nostalgia in my eyes as well. Life was a lot simpler 50 years ago.
And writer Jack Burns, of Burns and Schriber, passed away in 2020.
Fun Fact: The Los Angeles Times reported that the original sets from the syndicated series were still on file so the producers were able to recreate the look of the show.
I watched the show with my teen daughter. Before we watched it, I explained what “variety show” meant, and the how and why of guest stars. So she was prepped to understand the context.
I thought the episode was good. Not great, but as a good as any original episode, which to be honest, varied quite a bit in quality. My daughter appreciated the songs. I loved the Queen song ending the show.
