I loved the last album much more than any of his other ones. Are there any similar albums around, maybe even recent?
Reported for move to CS.

I like Ty Segall’s most recent album, too (and this thread reminds me to purchase a hard copy of Freedom’s Goblin). But, that’s a whole album of material, and I don’t see it to be that far from the rest of his catalog. It might be my blind spot, but what do you like about it and see as being different from the rest of his music?
Enu Cledge put a nice list of my faves in (and some stuff I don’t know well yet), but the things that make me like those and Ty Segall’s music might be completely different from what you’re looking for. Considering the sounds on that record, the respondent might answer anything from Jamiroquai to ZZ Top when considering the same song, depending on their own fixation.
So, I’m saying you’re giving us a little bit of a Rorschach test. If I might lean toward “acceptable”, and old, I’d guess Matthew Sweet’s Girlfriend might work. But that probably says more about me than it says about the Ty Segall record. Either way, tell us who’s close, if nothing else.
To give a wider view of what that record brings to mind: at another point of listening to it, I’m thinking yeah, he’s sure to like The Battles (with Gary Newman) - My Machines, but I view it very different from the musicians mentioned above.
