I’ve been to all of those, as of a few years ago. As someone who grew up in Tacoma, it’s odd to hear it mentioned in a song, or anywhere else.
My car has a stick shift, safety belts, and bucket seats.
I’ve been rolling fast down I-35, supersonic overdrive. Also, been rolling fast down I-45, going 109 at some point, bending time, feeling fine.
I’ve also stayed at the Lasalle hotel in old downtown. I didn’t have enchiladas, though.
As have I; I’ve lived a few miles north of Route 66’s route through Chicago’s western suburbs for the past 29 years, and I drive on portions of it several times a month.
I also used to work a half-block away from its eastern terminus in downtown Chicago, and walked along those streets often.
They’ve all got to go.
I’ve ridden the MTA a few times. No sign of Charlie, though.
I’ve been to several casbahs and they all need rocking.
I’ve driven on Highway 61, walked up and down Broadway, and taken the A Train.
You can’t take a west coast road trip without driving on Route 101.
But a lot of good cars are Japanese. They can really go the distance.
I’m not sure what road it would be, but has anyone driven down the hill that leads into Scranton, Pennsylvania?
I haven’t, but I’ve certainly seen it. It’s an exit ramp off I-81 (I think), and though I didn’t take it, it looked scary enough for a car when I drove by. I cannot imagine what it would be like if I was in a semi carrying thirty thousand pounds of bananas.
I once made love in a Subaru…let’s see if any gets that one. ![]()
Not as good as in the back of a pink Cadillac, I suspect. ![]()
I’m not sure I’ve ever exactly “navigated” on the Erie Canal, but I have ridden in a boat on the Erie Canal.
I’ve also “marched” to Zion (National Park).
Meh. I learned about love in the back of a Dodge. The lesson didn’t go too far.
There’s nothing that I’d rather do
A Dr Demento favorite, IIRC
A friend was born in Saginaw, Michigan, but I don’t think his dad was a poor, hard working Saginaw fisherman.
I’ve never owned a Lincoln, and I don’t think I’ve every driven up Grapevine Hill on I-5, certainly not passing cars like they were standing still.
And I don’t think I’ve ever been on Colorado Blvd in Pasadena.
This thread is making me smile.
Just yesterday I was winding my way down Baker Street. Because it’s a straight north-south road, people were giving me funny looks.
