ISTM it’s pretty obvious musk & trump hate one another but there is something holding them together. Probably that musk is paying trump a lot, and trump controls a lot of jails musk wants to stay out of. IOW, the balance of terror approach to running a cabinet.

Not when the employer is the most powerful man on Earth. If Trump wanted he could have Musk disappeared into a black site somewhere or just have Musk’s fortune confiscated and Musk could do nothing about it. Musk’s just too stupid and arrogant to realize that.

For a sufficiently corrupt regime, a mere accusation of crimes not much in evidence is enough to disappear somebody. Are we there yet as to ordinary schmoes like you and me? No. For somebody who is a true threat to trump’s plans for national and world domination? Most likely we are.

As the stock market continues to plummet and everyone is saying that the tariffs were a bad idea, it has to be reaching even into Trump’s diminutive brain that the tariffs were a mistake. So he’ll backpedal and denounce the tariffs as if he was never involved. He won’t admit he screwed up so who’s the next name on the list to take the blame? Peter Navarro.
The tariffs are only a mistake from trump’s POV if he was trying to help the USA. If he was trying to sabotage it on orders from e.g. Putin, he seems to be doing a fine job.
Or just doing it because a good depression is the best way to usher in the fascism he really wants. When the people are clamoring for the president to assume emergency powers, “dissolve” congress, and rule by pure decree, he’ll be ready.
If you watch any Fox News or look at the bulk of the replies to Trump’s Truth Social posts, you’ll find are nowhere near the point where “everyone” is saying they are a bad idea.

Fox is little more measured, but they are going back and forth between “Democrats and the mainstream media are fear-mongering, it’s a great buying opportunity, other countries are all rushing to be first in line to negotiate.
They even played a clip of Jamie Dimon saying this would probably throw us into a depression, but they focused on analyzing his demeanor and decided he was speaking too calmly to be serious.
There’s a whole separate thread about people getting deported.

Some of the tariffs only went into effect today. We’re still in the “It’s going to disappear” stage of this crisis.
Check back with the right wing media in a couple of weeks and see what they’re saying.

But by and large those are random people chosen essentially at random by low-level asshole cops getting high on impunity. Or genuine screwups that shouldn’t have happened if the cops hadn’t been playing FAFO with the feds’ unreliable computer systems.
I was referring to ordinary folks being specifically targeted for something they themselves did that angered the toddler tyrant. Such as the criminal regime issuing an order to arrest anyone posting the words “toddler tyrant” or “criminal regime”.
