I’m not a communist and not a socialist, but to simply toss out Imperialism because it was written by Lenin is like tossing out The Discourses on Livy or The Prince because they were written by Machiavelli. Stupid. Lenin effectively interpreted what was going on in a way that was useful and showed the injustice of the matter. That he was a right son of a bitch himself is irrelevant, and the baby should not be thrown out with the bathwater. Part of the problem is that the modern imperialists, the globalists want the baby thrown out and to be immune from criticism of Lenin’s type. So they smear everybody referring to it as a commie.
I have not read Das Capital, but I am informed that it is the first thorough analysis of capitalism and necessary from a historical perspective for understanding historic economic theory. The fact that it is so long and connected with Marx makes it anathema. But lets remember that Adam Smith heavily criticized the immoral nature of greedy capitalism too and earlier. But that is also glossed over when it is taught.
Capitalism unchecked is greedy and immoral and very destructive, just like any other “pure” doctrine.

When I came across Imperialism in 5/10, I started setting the table for Apple, the insane idea that our problems can be reduced by partisan debate as to which administration is “responsible” for them. The real question is WHAT is responsible for installing any administration. It has never been We The People.
