I’m a nerd. No, a geek. I even make geeky jokes. SO I wants you’se clowns to see if there is anything wrong with my custom-made 3rd edition prestige class for the Forgotten realms campaign setting. Essentially, this is supposed to replace the Tome and Blood class of the same name.
The Arcane Order was formed under the guidance of good dieties as a neutral spot and resting
ground for good adventurers of all types. Under the divine guidance of Torm and Mielikke, the Elven
adventurer Evendur Laelithar founded the Order, by way of apoligizing to Torm for Evendur’s leaving
his service for Mielikki’s worship. The Arcane Order was originally born from a group of arcane
casters who met in Evendur’s library at irregular intervals to trade spells. Interested in the benefits
of more advanced study, and encouraged by advice from clerics of Mystra, they began rituals to
create a mystic spellpool available to members of the Order.
The arcane order accepts any worthy canidate who can meet their demanding requirements. For
those who do not, training is offered, as the Order’s philosophy is to spread magical knowledge.
Bards, Wizards, Sorcerors, and Harper Scouts are common inductees. Multiclass Clerics, Druids,
and, in fact, any other class is welcome, so long as they are of good heart. Unlike many arcane
guilds, the Order demands that their recruits train the body as well as the mind.

Class Features:
The Spellpool: See Tome and Blood under the Prestige class Arcane Order for more
information. However, in this case, the Spellpool spell levels allowed are distributed as follows:
Spellpool I (at class level 1) grants first and second level spells. Spellpool II (at class level 4) grants spell levels 3 and 4, Spellpool III (at class level 7) grants spell levels 5 and 6, and Spellpool IIII (at class level 10) grants spell levels 7 and 8.
Basically, this grants a limited number of spells, which may be any standard spell, while
incurring a debt equal to the total levels of spells used. Pretty much any spell may be cast in this
manner. The caster must then return spell levels to the Spellpool or lose his access to it. Unlike the
original ability, casters may not advance-pay spells into the spellpool.
Order Initiate: The new member of the Arcane Order has passed his basic tests. He is granted
a 10% discount on items or spell teaching available at the Arcane Order’s library and magical goods
stores. He must, however, pay a yearly fee of 700 gp.
Bonus Feat: At levels 3 and 7, the character gains a bonus feat taken from this list: Any
Metamagic or Item Creation feat.
