I think voting ends at 5pm EST.
Voted and pushin’ other dopers to go vote as well.
It just went from 40-38 to 41-38.
Are you guys voting for the right thing?
Voted. Just saw this today, with 2h12 to go.
Voted but it’s still 41-38. I think the Cancer kids have a better union or something
Now it’s 42-38
I’m not really superstitious (I’m only a little stitious).
Today, I found a dead crow (raven?) on our property up against the exterior wall to Getty’s nursery. I had to scoop it up a throw it out.
I wasn’t going to inspect it to see if it was a raven, but it was a big black crow, comparable in size to a hawk, and bigger than a dove or pigeon.
This comes just a few days after we had to surrender a black cat to the SPCA.
WTF?
She is lovely.
I’m hoping i will look as cute and stylish rocking my new messenger bag as getty
I think you’re supposed to report dead crows (or any corvidae), they’re a West Nile virus vector. Don’t think of it as an omen, or anything, though seeing any dead critters is a bit unnerving, I know.
I didn’t know so I reported it online today. My county has the highest bird count in California on the reporting website. One third of the total dead bird reports in the entire state of California are in Sacramento county.
The reporting website had pictures of birds for identification. Mine was a common raven.

That is hilarious! I hope she was happier about it than she appears. That look seems to say “Take the damn picture and get it off!”
The GETty Crafty Craft Fair Fundraiser in honor of our Little Miss Getty has 70 vendors and growing, Good Day Sacramento television coverage, raffle prizes, music, and now 92.5 radio coverage! This is huge! Thank you everyone who is a part of this!
Her cheeks are quite nommable. I would have to exercise great restraint around her ![]()
I just found this thread, and I want to say from one daddy to another: I hope you feel peace, love and have many happy moments with your wife and baby. Your daughter is beautiful. Kiss her, breathe her in, and enjoy the smiles.
Abosolutely adorable!
Like most babies I’ve seen, she doesn’t look too enthusiastic about being costumed, but to some of us grown ups, she’s cute as a bug’s (owl’s?)ear!
More doper auntie kisses.
Cookies for Kids’ Cancer won $20k as first prize in the contest.
The Jimmie Johnson Foundation got hold of an email between Cookies for Kids’ Cancer and the Gwendolyn Strong Foundation. The email was an agreement that, regardless of the vote, the two parties would split the $20k.
JJF decided to give a second-place prize to GSF in the amount of … $20k.
$20k for SMA! YAY! ![]()
Thanks for your votes!
That’s great news! Sure is a breath of fresh air to hear this kind of story of sportsmanship and generosity.
