Wonderful write up!

Wow. Nearly five and a half years now.

Just saw this on the local news:

That’s great too! That’s how Getty attends kindergarten: VGo robot. It’s wonderful.

It feels good to have proven them all wrong and to see her blossom

“Feels good”? Hahahaha…talk about understatement of the century!

I’m a regular visitor to Getty’s blog, and whilst I can’t begin to comprehend the enormous effort that you and Kate put in to her care and also championing the SMA cause, just be assured there’s strangers out in the interweb world cheering you along the way.

I’m not usually the neener neener type but in this case…

Neener neener

Thanks.

This is the fucking greatest thing I’ve heard all month.

I’m so happy for you and your family.

Love it! My special needs son used an iPad to talk for him last year in kindergarten, and was the first non-verbal kid to be completely mainstreamed in his district. By the end of the second week of school, the other kids were demanding that THEY wanted a Robot Voice, too. He was just another kid, and it meant so much to him.

Technology is helping to fill the gaps, at least a little bit.

Hoot hoot for the little owl!

Students like Getty and your son, Sarabellum, are astronauts, going boldly into our future. We are so lucky to be alive, right now.
