My Backyard Is So Green!

It’s a miracle! Two days ago, bare branches. Today: MAGNIFICIENT!

It’s all so green, so beautiful!
Today is the first day of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere, and it’s like somebody flicked a switch and Hey! Presto! The world is wonderful again, & all is new and fresh.
Joy to you all.

I’m so jealous!! The only green in my lawn comes from the weeds. We got the worst sod in the world and all the real grass died. It seems that the Weed-n-Feed was actually Weed Feed!! I’m ready to pave it all then paint it green.

Pff. My backyard is WHITE! There’s a freakin’ blizzard goin’ on here, man! We’ve got “emergency traveling only” advisories 10 miles north of here!

As a cow-orker said, “Happy Spring!”

Well, those cow-orkers are not to be trusted!

It’s sunny and beautiful here, but we really need rain.

Imthecowgodmoo is back?

I wish.

Oooooh, you’re so lucky. My backyard is a parking lot. :frowning:

FairyChatMom I live in Florida also and have lots of experience with lawn maintenance. You need to treat for bugs as well as fertilizing. The bugs down here will tear up a lawn in no time.

Please continue with your regularly scheduled spring rejoicing. I will also add that in Florida seasonal changes don’t really affect the foliage. I am travelling to northern Maryland next week so I hope spring has sprung when I get there. Last time I was there a couple of weeks ago it was too damned cold for me.

I don’t want to hear it, thanks. It was -25C last night, and the weather’s not breaking anytime soon. :frowning:

:mad envy:

Lucky you. I just got 31 inches of snow on Saturday night.

::::joining Bosda in the happy spring dance:::: Tulips are coming up in my front yard! Jonquils in the back! Forsythias bustin’ out all over!

But it rained here for four days solid and all my neighbors are pumping out their basements. Flooding in the mountains. There’s water still running in the streets in front of my house because the ground is so saturated. But today the sun is out and my spirits have lifted 100 percent! Hurray for spring!!

Plenty many green in Houston too. Nice.
We were starting to bud a month ago and then caught 3 nights in the 20’s that nipped a lot of tender shoots back. But warmer temps since and another inch of rain healed a lot.
My lawn is beautiful already and I’m having to mow once a week. I mixed weed 'n feed with turf builder awhile back and it shows. The wisteria on the arbor are in full bloom, as are the redbuds and carolina jasmine. Lady banksia, indian hawthorne and azaleas were hurt by the freeze but about half the blooms survived and are showcasing now. My flowering plum has already come and gone but the purple leaf is really starting to shine now. Aaah, will I ever miss this in August.

It rained like crazy here too…so my backyard is mud. A lovely shade of brown, I assure you, but mud all the same.

The trees look pretty, though. The bushes around the front of our house (I’m not sure what they are…they’re pretty big with large leaves and beautiful pink flowers) are blooming. So nice. I hope the tulips show up soon.

Well, mine was green, but it turnrd white again.

My front yard is green with wild onions, but my backyard is a muddy swamp. It’s rained for 5 days.
