Thanks Coldfire, that’s the kind of info we need.
Billy, would you mind if I e-mailed you for more info on that electrical system? That’s something we should know more about before this repair!

I’ve emailed the mods to forward you my address.
Basically, make sure that when you receive the repaired vehicle, everything must work properly, and I mean everything. If a single electrical component is suspect, be it a switch, a lamp, whatever, trade it in.
The last ownership change, I believe it was bmw in, bmw out, ford in, had the effect of putting a lot of the stuff in limbo. Ford has done wonders for the Jaguar and Aston-Martin marques by LEAVING THEM ALONE, other than in the areas of electricals, where all british cars sorely need help. Ford may have done some work to your 2000 landie, but I doubt they’ve had time to sufficiently exorcise the dark prince.
I a couple of years, the landy will be the best electrically as well as mechanically, and while I had the chance to own a Disco I opted for the Exploder instead, based on a long and tragic history of british vehicle ownership. Doesn’t mean I don’t still love them. When you email me I’ll send you a pic of Sheila, my 1967 109 regular.
