Nine years older then him? You want him to conform and date a women the same age as him?
Great post Mtgman. To bad the OP will never respond to it.

Hey mods. Could you be so kind and lock this thread, please. Since it is my thread, begun by me, I hope you will honor my request. Thank you.[/quoe]
Dammit. And I thought I checked my coding carefully. Let’s try that again:

Ruffian, don’t you see, since all of us had been shown to be “conformists” worthy of mockery and condescension, it would obviously be clearly the right thing to do to stop us from any further addressing of the issue.
What a fascinating thread. I read all the way through and was actually seeing your point of view. Then you revealed your true personality.
What a vile and ugly and sad person you are. Your ex-bf is one lucky man for getting away from you. I hope you fall madly in love with a man 9 years younger than you, who will then dump you because he realizes how “yukky” you are because of your age.
Thanks. After reading some more posts/threads with this particular poster as one of the star participants I don’t have much hope of any introspection on their part. This is assuming they’re not just trying to yank our chains(which is an assumption I’m giving 50/50 odds at the moment).
Enjoy,
Steven
Non-conformists. They’re all the same.
Marriage, like life, is what you make it out to be.
There are 11 divorces in my immediate family. I decided to never marry. When I started dating the love of my life, both of us agreed that marriage was not in the cards. chuckle
I got married at age 20. We have been married for 11 years. We are not a conventional couple- we have separate friends, interests, hobbies. We also share interests, hobbies, etc. We are both very independent. We have no children.
Don’t equate marriage with the end of your life or intellectual or emotional growth. Marriage is very cool when done right. You do grow as a person, and as a unit.
Marriage doesn’t equal life in the burbs and kids and picket fences. Just like suburban life doesn’t always equal mimivans, soccer moms and PTA. Your generalizations are offensive, and not what I expect to find on this board. BTW, we bought our first home last year. And a riding lawn mower! The horror…
Oh, dear. This thread is in danger of sinking off the front page again. How will the mods ever see that request for closure? Better give it a bump…
You’re just bitter that you live in Jersey, Green Bean.
I bitter that I don’t live in Jersey. I’m way down on the bourgeois middle class scale.
I can’t even see blessed non-conformity from here.
Not that there’s anything wrong with driving a minivan, being a soccer mom, and being on the PTA. RIGHT???
But isn’t everyone a prole up in Albany? That’s all the nonconformity you really need.
Most of us a proles. Only most.
Because we’re stuck with the state legislature in this town, we get a lot of shining lights from the city at the bottom of the river.
Makes us quaint little peons green with envy, let me tell you.
Moderator’s Notes:
Equipoise, you’ll kindly knock off that kinda shit in this forum. I know this thread is related to a current Pit thread, but it ain’t in the Pit. You will keep your invective confined to that forum and out of all others or your membership will be terminated.
Note: Oddness != nonconformity. Sometimes an oddball is just an oddball. Non-conformists are oddballs by choice.
Enjoy,
Steven
A non-conformist thinks that a man seeing a woman older than he is is “Yuck!”? How … … … refreshingly … … … conformist!
The state legislature that taxes us real proles to pieces and gives us nothing in return. Who’s the bourgeois now, huh?
Honestly, Maeglin, I really am backsliding on the whole bourgie-middle-class deal. I’m so ashamed.
I really need to get a dog, an SUV, a wife and some kids (preferably the soccer-playing kind).
All I have at the moment is the house in the suburbs. As much as Albany even has suburbs, anyway.
And I really have to spend more time obsessing over my lawn.
At least you have a lawn. I’m stuck with a transit fare hike and a mayor who needs to be mowed.
