Was there anything specific that leads you to believe this attack was motivated by racism? Were they yelling racist obscenities at him during the act? Just curious.
Dont think I’m trying to say you’re wrong or jumping to conclusions. I’m just wondering if there’s more to it.
Ye Gods, that’s horrible. I can’t even imagine the mindset that would lead to such a horrible act.
A couple years ago I was playing in a live action Vampire role playing game. My character wore a salwar kameez, khimar, and niqab. I would dress fully (getting into a veil and headscarf is tricky if you’re not used to it), get in the car, and go straight to game. What an eye-opening experience - even just riding in the car, with my very white boyfriend driving, I got flipped off, sneered at, yelled at…a jeep full of teenagers even tried to run us off the road. It was terrifying, and this was something I wore once a month, for a game. Being faced with that level of irrational prejudice on a day to day basis is beyond my comprehension.
