My butt hurts!

Obligatory comment on Tag/subject congruence.

My RMT was fixing my lower lumbars once. He has a little skeleton next to his table and often used it to demonstrate where muscles connect, what movements they do etc. The he said, “If you’ve done this ::moves Skeleton Dude to recreate the conditions of my injury:: then chances are good you’ve strained all the muscles all the way down. You probably didn’t know you had muscles all the way down to your tail bone.” Then he poked those super low muscles and I nearly dropped dead from pain.

I’m wondering though if you twinged this muscle (the bottom most one). It looks like it would hurt when you pee. (Pelvic floor muscle.)

So it isn’t some sort of ass-based stigmata?

I’ll show YOU an ass-based stigmata!

You know, on second thought, that doesn’t sound right at all. Nevermind.

Well, you have my sympathy. I once leaned over too far while steated in my desk chair at home, fell out, and caught one of the casters right in the crack.

You think having a hurt butt is bad? I have a loose pelvis!

I messed up my sacro-iliac joint on the right side, then had the temerity to have two kids. Now I have too much motion (i.e., any) in that joint, and that plus the fact that the surrounding muscles are weak means the right half of my pelvis can easily rotate forward and down.

Here’s why this is relevant: when that happens, I can get muscle pain around my tailbone. AND one of the things I’m supposed to do to help support the joint and keep everything in the right place is Kegel exercises. So from my limited knowledge, it isn’t crazy that you’d have tailbone pain and possibly swelling or spasm in the pubococcygeus muscles, which could influence urination.

If it doesn’t continue to get better, or it happens again, you might want to hie yourself directly to a physical therapist.

Does it look like you have a big blister at the top of, um, the crack (jeez, is there any decorous way to say that?)? Could be a pilonidal cyst.

No blister. Definitely internal. But it was hardly even noticeable this morning. The general back soreness has returned, though.

Amusingly enough, half of the office was complaining this morning about still being sore from the evacuation drill, so I’m glad it wasn’t just me.

Unauthorized Cinnamon, that really just makes me cringe. Yow.

My butt hurts too. Income tax filing is this week in the US.

This is funny. Not your pain, mind you, but the comments about it. Hilarious!

I am thinking it might have something to do with the drill. 40 flights of stairs might do that to you.
