My car was T-boned an hour ago.

A guy in a Toyota Auris ran a stop sign and hit my Hyundai Santa Fe on the front right wheel. My dad was driving, mom in the passenger seat and me in the back seat. I don’t have a single scratch, mom and dad have some light bruises on their heads.

Damage assessment: The Toyota’s front was a mess. Bumper, headlights, radiators, hood and possibly the windscreen was broken. Both front airbags deployed.

I can’t see the external damage on my Hyundai because after the crash my father lost control and swerved in some bushes, so we’ll have to wait for the tow truck to get it out in the morning. The gear selector was sticking, but I managed to put it in reverse. But the engine was idling very roughly and was unresponsive to the gas pedal. Also the ABS light was turned on. No front or side airbags were deployed.

Shit. Glad you and the folks are okay. Was the other guy injured? More importantly, was he insured?

i’m glad y’all are okay. that is a scary crash.

That’s scary! I’m glad everyone’s okay.

No, they weren’t injured either. And yes, they were insured.

My mom was pretty shaken from the incident. She’s the touchy-feely type who will get panic attacks for no reason at all, so this was a bit too much for her. I ran to our house (it was about 5 blocks away) to get the other car. I took mom home and left dad to deal with the police. When I got back to get dad, the police had finished their report.

Been there.

A woman, whacked on scrips, rammed me a few years back.

Get checked out at your Doc’s, JIC. X-rays, too.

Dog80: I’m glad to hear you’re uninjured and your parents nearly so. It’s a good thing you weren’t on a motorcycle! (Not all three of you, of course. ) Collisions suck bigtime. Ask me how I know.

Still, this thread title would make a hell of a sequential thread with your News from USA and 100mph “high speed” pursuits?.
