My cat has a dangerous habbit........

About 2 years ago I turned on my dryer to dry some clothes that were not completely dried. Little did I know that my tabby Fred climbed into the dryer undetected. He must have been in there for about 40 to 50 seconds before I realized where the thumping sound was coming from. Luckily he was okay. He was extemely shaken up! But he was so fluffy and smelled great! TO this day I will never turn on the dryer unless I thoroughly check it first and know exactly where Fred is…

Thanks everybody for the suggestions. I think his habit is caused by curiosity more than trying to hide. He favorite spot is the middle of the floor with everybody tripping over him. I rarely leave the dryer open so I’m not too worried about that, the thing with the oven is that he wants to sit on the open door while i’m taking something out, so it may be the food he’s interested in.

Said checking is probably in vain. How’s Mark Twain’s old quote go: “We should be careful to get out of an experience only the wisdom that is in it - and stop there; lest we be like the cat that sits down on a hot stove-lid. She will never sit down on a hot stove-lid again, and that is well; but also she will never sit down on a cold one anymore, either.”
