My cat is sleeping in his cat bed!

Well, it’s just that I’ve never observed this phenomenon before. A cat sleeping under the bed. And cat sleeping in the middle of your bed (when you want to go to bed.) A cat sleeping on your computer. A cat sleeping on the top of the refrigerator. Sure.

But a cat sleeping where you have designated that he should sleep??? Unheard of. Next thing, he’ll invite the mouse to join him, the lamb will lie down with the lion, it’ll be the end of the world.

Cite?

No seriously, you forgot the pic.

Might I refer you to a poem that I remember clearly from the tender age of nine, when I had to recite it in front of my entire class?

Oh, and I can’t believe you forgot the pictures. Tsk tsk.

Well of course. They sleep anywhere but where you intend them to sleep.

Sorry about the pictures. I’m having a lot of computer problems. Like the interface with my digital camera. If not the SD would be crashed by the number of cute kitties I’d post. Just imagine someone too furry to live. With a tail bigger than the rest of his body.

My cat has started sleeping on his scratching pad. It’s adorable.

Where are the pics people??

Actually, I can do you one better - both of my kitties sleep in the cat bed together . They love it! It helps that their bed is on a table that lets them look out the window. They’re often there waiting for me to come home, meowing.

So do mine*.

Slee

*Well they try to but they really don’t fit. I need to get a bigger cat bed or smaller cats.

You sure those are cats ?

betenoir, I’d think you were lying…but my cats are actually using the scratching post I bought them, although it was expensive!

I wish I knew how to get my cat to use a scratching post. I swear he uses pretty much every single thing in my room but the scratching post for his claws. The bed, rug, couch, and chair are all fair game, but heaven forbid he use the post. :stuck_out_tongue:

Cowboy, the post that is currently working for me is covered with sisal fabric. Not sisal rope, they hated that stuff.

I also spritzed it with some stuff to make it smell like catnip. They waited until the stuff wore off before they’d go anywhere near it.

Our youngest cat, Dali (12 weeks old) often sleeps on top of our oldest cat, Nermal (19 years old). Awwwww!

Rules be damned. All you people who claimed their cats sleep in cat beds - I’m calling you out as trolls!

Everyone knows that cat beds are for peeing in. ( :frowning: )

Our meezer has one of those dome-covered beds. He gets into it and pesters the humans to pick it up and swing it, but I’ve never seen him actually sleep in it.

Isn’t it obvious? Cover the scratching post in genuine French brocade for $5500 a yard. Or your favorite concert T from the eighties. Either monetary or sentimental value will work.

My two use the SUPERSIZE ™ kitty bed for enthusiastic kneading. They snooze on the other end of the futon, however. :smack: I should buy me some cheap furry fabric (not the 42 buck blankie from the pet store! ) and use it to cover that side…

OMG!!
Not meant to hijack this thread and all these cutie-pie kitty pictures, but I haven’t seen my buddy Kermit since July 2006.

I had no idea he was shacking up your cat. He’s such a tart sometimes.
Tell him he still owes me $50.

Occasionally, we will grow a container full of blue grass over the winter, for the cat to chew on. Bailey found another use.

Oh! It’s the Easter Kitty!

Does Bailey leave the rest of your plants alone? I’d love to make a kitty bed o’ grass for my land sharks, but I’m afraid it would dilute the “No plants! Bad kitty!” message we generally try to send.
