I walk at 2.5-3.2 MPH and don’t jog or run. I’m also not too tall, so I can vary my stride even on a short belt surface. In theory, this one folds easily and weighs 25 lbs. I will report back.

I can’t be personally purged, as a student. I’m actually attached to a university in England, despite being physically based in Scotland anyway. I did say it was a weird setup. It’s just half the group I work with. Several have been there decades, they have spouses also working there, and the really annoying person in the office can’t be affected.
In fact, they can’t stop paying me anyway, because they already did. Officially I’m in the unpaid ‘final write-up’ stage, which is a deeply unfair phenomenon… I can afford it, many can’t.
Tis soggy and predicted to remain so fro the rest of the morning. I’m a little dozy having been woken up in the middle of the night by the camera doorbell suddenly declaring it was in low battery, followed 15 minutes later by a message from someone who had helpfully offered to read a draft chapter. She visited a couple of years ago for 6 months, works with something similar, and just finished her own thesis last year, so a really good person to look at it. Unfortunately, she lives in New Zealand, so messaged me a question just before 2am…
My own fault for not turning my phone connection off, but I couldn’t get back to sleep.
Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 18c/64f with a predicted high of 21c/70f and cloudy. Weather app says “It’s really not that fucking funny outside right now. Sorry about that. I’ll fucking try to do better.” Yes, it’s muggy and humid today. Not fun at all.

I hope Sunflower enjoys it, I had a very productive 12 weeks with Amrit at my gym. It’s great for providing support, helping people gain confidence, and giving some short structured plans for exercise so you don’t end up going to the gym with only a vague idea of what you want to do.
Yesterday was fun but very busy. I finally got all the exam board paperwork uploaded, then found a job that Troublesome Minion should have done, but didn’t. It involves a set of forms that I couldn’t locate so I had to wait until 8am for a colleague to log in and give me access to them. I got the report completed and uploaded before the exam board documents went live, but it’s something else I’ll have to talk to TM about.
I went to the gym for a kettlebells class and the trainer decided to follow the EMOM format, so we got five rounds of five exercises in his 30-minute class. It was fun, but I was feeling a bit battered at the end of it! Came home to find that 'im indoors had brought a load of dirty dishes down and just left them by the sink. Didn’t bother washing them up, didn’t even bother putting them in some hot water. Peeved, I was.
Up at the crack of sparrow’s fart for last-minute checks on the board paperwork, did the missing report, and have sent something else off for the exams officer to use for working out who gets departmental prizes. I think I deserve one! Anyway, boards happen in two separate sessions, with an online discussion board available for questions in between sessions. That’s four sessions for me, the first one’s finished and so far, nobody’s found anything to question. That’s how I like it.
It’s 0530. I’ve been up for more than 3 hours after less than 2 hours of sleep. Not gonna be much of a day. Dammit.

We are under a flood watch and rain is expected to continue over the next three days at least. The big item on today’s agenda is to procure provisions. We will take care of that this mornin’ and spend the rest of the day in RDOS sloth. Sup will be leftover lasagna to which I will add sallit, and garlic breadsticks (to be purchased at the sto’).

I did manage to doze another hour, but definitely not enough. We were going to take the boat out today - no way I can manage that. But we’ll go down there briefly - FCD is going to pull the shower sump pumps and I have a few things here that need to go aboard. Plus we have to pay for the pig roast. We won’t be there long, and I may actually nap when we get back.
I don’t know why I couldn’t turn my brain off this morning. It was going all sorts of weird places and just wouldn’t go to sleep. And I wasn’t over-caffeinated, so that’s not it. Stoopit brain.
Morning all. Bladder alarm got me up about 6am and I didn’t feel like going back to bed so up and (more or less) ready for the day. Did manage to solve the Acrostic in the Sunday NY TImes, I usually only get it about 30% of the time, so nice to know my brain is still functioning. Clouds and 71F but supposed to be clearing and up to 88F, so sweaty weather for sure. Nothing much on the agenda, the World Cup games don’t interest me much today so we’ll see what I do with myself. Probably do need to stop at the Wal of Mart and maybe Dollar Tree for some incidentals, we’ll see how it goes.
red, I’ve been on exactly one horse in my life, that was just a place that took folks for a short ride in the woods, I remember them letting get the horse into second gear (trotting I think) and it scared me half to death. Have rode elephants twice, those I can stay on…
Lily, looked at those, pretty reasonably priced, I may have to consider getting one. The stationary bikes aren’t that unreasonable either…hmmmm. I usually walk at 3.5-3.6mph and at an incline so might need a somewhat fancier one.

Good morning. The walking alarm went off, and a very tired sounding voice next to me asked, “Do we hafta?” I think we both needed that extra hour.
We had double yoga last night, but we were able to make it to the smoothie and sandwich shop before they closed the kitchen. Then it was a bit of the boob-tube and then bed.
I just looked at my schedule. I have a meeting at eleven, so my ten o’clock class is out. I still have time to make the eight-thirty class, so that’s what I’ll do.
I’ll check in and catch up this afternoon.

last night while waiting for the shuttle, i saw a couple walking down the street. they were wearing navy blue shirts, the woman had on navy shorts, the man had on a kilt. i reckoned on them being scotland supporters. is there an official scotland kilt for various sporting events?

I got about 8 hours of shut eye. Since t stroms and other bad weather are predicted for this afternoon, I may have a nap. I have a 10:45 chiro appointment which is less than a mile away so I won’t be out in the rain for too long.
I didn’t sleep fer shit last night either, I was up worrying about surgery prep all night. Ugh.
Its warming up today, we were able to have the windows open last night but closed them around ten.
There is an old single-wide trailer across the gully that has come up for sale, it was occupied up until and needs a good cleaning and some paint but otherwise is in decent shape.
Harry thinks we should buy it to use as a studio. He’s taken up painting since his heart attack and is running out of room to stack his canvases. I wouldn’t mind sitting on the back porch and watching the river while stitching and could use a little more thread storage myself.
Something to think about, land rarely loses value.

Still functioning somewhat. We went to the boat and FCD cleaned the shower sump in our cabin. I was his fetcher, etc. Happily, the pump works so no need to take it out and work on it. But he ran out of steam before getting to the other shower - a chore for another day.
The a/c in the v-berth is dead dead dead. A replacement would run around $2K. Needless to say, it’s not gonna be done this year. The other 2 units are working really well, so if the kids sleep over, we’ll just aim a fan from the main cabin to theirs and it’ll keep them cool.
I was pleased to see that our fave Chinese place does deliveries for lunch time, so it should be here soon. We’re adjusting our meals to have more at breakfast and lunch, leaving grazing/foraging for supper.
OK, gonna go plop into the recliner till lunch arrives. Then after, I’ll plop again and maybe snooze.
