My Cup Runneth Over- A Championship MMP

Well, outside of fixing and consuming soup and sammiches I have done nothing of consequence yet today. Will get dressed and do something, even if it’s just more gym time here in a bit. Temperature is up to 83F, so plenty warm.

Knots, hope the power stays on through the next batch of storms.

rocky, were they drinking beer/alcohol? That way you could tell if they were true Scotsmen/women.

JtC, sounds like an idea, but look into it a little more deeply before going for it, IMHO.

FCM, happy plopping!

And really need to move my old posterior out of this chair and do something. See you later, all.

A rainy day in MSP, which we need. Other than going to exercise, I have zero ambition today, so that means frozen pot pies for dinner. The highlight will likely be my bagels arriving from New Yorker.

It’s just after 1:00 PM, and a big honkin’ storm is just now arriving. The radio folks are telling us to get all our devices charged up, and we’re doing that.

Technically, yes, there is a official supporter’s tartan, and they do have an official kilt supplier, but I’m not sure how many people have one. I don’t think I’ve seen one, though Scotland shirts are pretty ubiquitous at the moment.

Proper kilts are really expensive, it’s not something people tend to have many of, so I’d guess most people would just bring one they already own on the grounds that most people will work out that they’re Scottish without having to examine the tartan…Or they’ll get a cheap low quality one expecting to trash it, because getting them cleaned is complicated and the odds of damage is high.

Was sunny most of the day, but the clouds reappeared within minutes of me getting home. First sunny day for a while, I really should have watered in the tunnel before I left, but it’s been so overcast lately I didn’t think to. Everything should recover, but the plants were all wilty and reproachful.

I was bouncing between Slides again. Either there were multiple late Airs, or the SSLAWS broke, because they were still running stuff at 0845. I got to stay late, because there were a bunch of spilled on packages that needed reboxing. I got home at noon, so I made hot dogs for lunch(Nathan’s all beef, onion, pickle, cheese, spicy brown mustard). Pretty good, maybe not “chili cheese dog at The Varsity” good, but I don’t think The Bandit does Door Dash. Funny thing, when I was driving to work this moring, I was coming to an intersection, and a cop was coming the other way, and as soon as he passed me, he did a u-turn. Then when I was driving home, I passed 2 cop cars, and both hit thier lights as soon as they passed me.

Seem somewhat silly to invest that much time and taxes getting people to that point, then make it hard to get a result.

Sorry you had insomnia, FCM.

Yes
Which reminds me, I saw boxes going to the Canes team store, so I need to plan a trip to get more stuff for my shrine to Rod Brind’Amour.

thank you! that looks very much like what i saw. really liked the plaid. really lovely blue.

my colour wheel is blue, green, black, grey. the plaid fits right in.

Yoga has been yoga’d. Meetings have been met. The meeting would have been better attended had the organizer set a notification. During the meeting, I’d gotten a text from Mrs Magill, her wallet had fallen out of her purse, and she was at the grocery store, doing a Band thing. Since I had seen it this morning, I replied to see whether she needed me tor bring it to her. She didn’t respond, so I ducked out of the meeting and brought it to her. Real top level excitement here at Casa d’Magill.

I’ve just been handed a new project at work. This one looks deceptively easy. I’ll expect (yet another) shitshow.

Knots stay safe.

JtC I get my best sleep during thunderstorms. During Hurricane Fran, I slept like a baby.

When I heard the Scottish first round matches were going to be in Boston, I was relieved. “Boston can keep up with the Scots,” I said to myself, but I’ve heard some bars have been complaining that they’re running out of liquor.

Doggio Have you been to Cloo’s in Mission Valley? He makes a good dog, and the bast chilli cheese fries. And you know what you did.

Was just reading this article:

“Plop” has become my new favorite word.

Pizza coming outta the oven onto its cardboard round disc? “PLOP!”

Me, sitting down in my car for a quick puffy-puff? "Plop… oooohhh, my back … " { spinal crackle sounds }

It’s surprisingly cool for mid June (highs in the low 60s? WHAT?!?") so hopefully I won’t be a sweaty Shoe today.

I paid my e$$lectric bill :money_bag: so off I go to re-make enough cash to keep body & soul together and inside a house. I have packed last night’s dinner leftovers snax, and have clean pants around here somewhere.

You deserve to be excited. I hope you go to the parade. We went 2 times when the Wings won. Had a great time.

I likely have you beat. I don’t believe I’ve posted for about 13 months when the computer fried itself into smithereens. Computer guy said absolutely nothing was recoverable. Nice to see many of the same posters; however, I lost my excel file with MMP names and other pertinent info so I’m a bit lost.

cat glove!. ::tackle hug:: welcome back!

Thank you very much; sweet of you to remember. I wanted to send you a Christmas card but like I mentioned the excel file was fried so all addresses were lost. So, Merry Christmas (6 months late)

Oh, oh, oh, just remembered your MMP name: so Thank You and Merry Christmas wetone.

Koritza has found the fish tank. She thought she could jump on it. Then her leg went into the water. She spun in midair and managed to only get one paw wet. I believe this will keep her from going after the fish when they get here.

Howdy Y’all! We procured and stowed provisions and then settled down to an afternoon of RDOS sloth amidst downpours of the torrential variety. For now the rain has stopped but it will descend again anon. We are also now under a FLOOD WATCH. Not sure what the tropical system comin’ ashore to visit will do, but TWPTB say a rainy next few days.

Cat_Glove welcome back! :: piles on the tacklehug :: sorry your ‘puter fried and you lost all your stuff. Do come back and regale us with excitatin’ tales and/or mundane stuff. We love it all!

Welcome back, CatGlove! I know several folks here have nicknames lists - I’m sure someone will share. I just try to remember.

I had a very small snooze, but shortly, Mel will join me to prep for sleepy-bye. Here’s hoping for a good night.

Welcome back cat glove!

Card and package mailed, prescriptions picked up and groceries bought. The rest of the afternoon was spent playing around in the studio.

Hey, Cat Glove!

Shiso has been to the vet. She doesn’t have ringworm, hooray, since she sleeps on my pillow.

My lovely wife gets her post-op tomorrow and with luck, a less clunky splint ‘n’ bandage set-up.

Evening all. Did my standard gym workout and was so busy replacing calories once I got home that I need to fast the rest of the night to stay on the right side of the caloric equation. We’ll see how well my will-power does for the next 3 hours or so. Another nice day today but a 50% chance of rain tomorrow. Will be spending most of Thorsday afternoon helping get the Soccer tournament started (games start Friday).

Knots, hope the storm didn’t KO power again.

doggio, hmmm, guess as long as “Bad Boys” wasn’t playing on the radio, it was just a coincidence…

Mollie, glad the wallet crisis was easy to resolve. Luck with now project.

CatGlove!! Nice to see you around these parts again, as for the Mumper names, you can check here: The MMP FAQ for a pretty good list.

rocky, I’ve seen a couple home videos of cats encountering fish tanks to their despair. Hopefully Koritza has a good memory…

Stay dry, swampy (I know, those terms don’t go together, but roll with it…)

Lily, good news on Shiso and hopefully equally good news for lovely wife.

And onward into the evening.

Dearborn is also showing the world cup matches on a huge screen in the Peace Park West.

Well now you’ve got me singing Midnight train to Jawja

Thank you Swampy, FCM, red, Lily, metal mouse (remember the first time when I called you metal mouth  ) for the greetings! I have so missed the MMP and have wondered how all of you have been doing. I have questions but will try to wait for clues as I read along.

I’ve now read all 119 posts on this MMP. A lot to respond to but I’m a bit burnt out.

Update: we’re doing well. Hubs is almost at the end of his very long journey. We had a video visit with his Stem Cell Transplant Dr last week Tuesday and she took him off the anti Graft vs Host Disease medication so he is now scheduled to receive the final vaccine that he needs, MMR, on July 7. Since it is a live vaccine, he couldn’t receive it until he was off the anti-rejection drug (off in Feb) and now this anti GvHD drug. He’s close to back to about 80+% of his energy level before his MDS diagnosis in Feb 2022. He’s golfing again and as you may recall, that was his goal. Although he has accepted that he won’t be able to play softball anymore.

I’m still working about 3 days a week at the golf course 2/3 mile away and walk to work as often as I can.

Today I filtered water then went to lunch with some former colleagues at a well-known pizza restaurant. Three of us went in on a large Wild Mushroom Fun-Guy pizza that has roasted wild mushrooms, shallots, roasted garlic, fontina, truffle pecorino. Then I also ordered a personal size Spring & Beet salad that has spring mix, lemon poppy seed, beets, corn, grapes, carrots, pecans, goat cheese. It was sooooo good. There were 2 slices left and the others insisted I take them home for Hubs.

I do have one or two excitatin’ tales to tell but will save them for another time.

Oh and as far as a list, I’ve started a new excel spreadsheet and already have 25 names on it along with most of the MMP names. I’m an Accountant and as you may know, we’re pretty anal.

G’Night all!
