My Cup Runneth Over- A Championship MMP

They’re a lot denser than a turnover, unless yours are very different to ours. Light and fluffy these things ain’t. They’ll keep you going through a cold day in’t mill.

I’m afraid that’s more of a common power than a superpower. What else ya got?

An understandable sentiment, both. But in my situation, it would take longer to drive to where the meh bagels are sold than to make my own really good ones. A trade-off for living in the forest, and fortunately, one I’m willing to accept. I can’t remember the last time I had commercially made pizza, either. Ain’t no one delivers out here! Luckily, I get a kick out of making things from scratch.

Speaking of, I think dinner tonight will be a sort of garlic chicken/mushroom/spinach mixture in Parmesan cream sauce with pasta. Simple boiled green beans alongside.

Lighting in our cabin has been resolved. Apparently there’s a right way to install the LED lights in the overhead fixtures. I just lucked out when I put them in the other fixtures. But FCD figgered it out and we have lights. Plus he installed a light in the locker - no more reaching for a flashlight to figure out what the heck is crammed in there! YAY! He’ll install one in the forward locker once he gets some more electrical bits and pieces.

On the way home, we stopped at Aldi and I got a flatbread pizza and some cheesy breadsticks as well as a couple of salads. Quick and easy supper.

We never did get the promised rain, tho there still might be some overnight, and a better chance tomorrow. If it doesn’t rain tomorrow, I’ll put in more yard time between laundry loads. Or not. We’ll just see.

But for now, I hear my recliner calling!

I mowed the back yard and moved some pots and furniture around for summer. My lovely wife has a much slimmer brace/splint but still isn’t allowed to lift anything with that hand or go to the pool for several more weeks.

Fortunately my house survived the tornado warning from earlier today. I did storm pretty heavily at the museum, about 9 miles from the house. Glad I didn’t come home to find Ms Peach had flown away inside her crate.

She’s forgiven me for the horrors of nail clipping and is now happily tearing the stuffing out of the poor HuggleHound fox. But she hasn’t killed the squeak yet. Dog folks, the huggle hound knotted toys are great.

Good evening everyone. It has been raining most of the day and we’ve been under a flood warning since around 1000. Our neighbor hood is not in danger, and the river won’t rise enough to reach the places on the other side of the gully. The Logan Kroger probably won’t be so lucky, the parking lot has been flooded several times in the last couple of years. Not much water in the store but that could change some day.

I had to stop the anti-inflammation meds last night and my shoulder and elbow are really aching. Happily I’ve been to the dispensary and have something to help, but I don’t want to raise my tolerance too much pre-surgery. I know I’m going to want to just zone out for the first couple of weeks after the procedure.

I’m surprised, when I was looking at the radar, there was a big red blob over Merrylande. It might still happen, we are expecting storms most of the night.

Hurray for figuring out what was going on with the lights!

I have never lived anywhere where we could have a pizza delivered. I was really hoping that things would change here, Gino’s is less than ten miles away, but nope. Not happening.

I have looked at those and wondered if they caused more bird strikes on the glass? I’m sure you are right that the fuzzbutts would love one

Thanks for the thoughts about Hubs. He finally got checked out and his 18 year old quad by-pass had almost closed up again. He had a stent put in and is now a different man. His body and brain were oxygen starved and just were not working right. The difference was overnight and very dramatic.

I’m having repetitive motion issues and will be going in for rotator cuff repair. It won’t be nearly as painful as it will be boring AND I’m in the middle of the yearly mystery needlepoint class so I’m getting really whinny about not being able to stitch for six weeks.

I watched a good part of it, I sure do miss the days when our elected officials at least pretended to have class and decorum. The Obamas sure did have all that and more, it was a great show.

Here’s hoping tomorrow will be better! At least you are one day closer to the weekend

Oh that poor woman and dang for her husband. I’ve heard that kidney stones are super painful. They are lucky to have you as a friend, it did sound like quite a day.

I’ll be back in an hour or so with the cream cheese recipe, I need to stop typing for a while.

 :joy:

Howdy Y’all! It’s been an off and on rainy day in these parts. I’m talkin’ downpours for about thirty minutes then calm for about an hour and then another downpour all day. Tonight and tomorow are predicted to be very rainy. In addition to the flood watch, we now have a tornado watch. Precious was just beside himself when he gave his weather forecast at five p.m.! He will need his pearls, faintin’ couch, fan, smellin’ salts and possibly oxygen before this weather front is through the area. I was quite the kitchen domestic this mornin’ and then for about another hour before sup. If’n I do say so myself sup was quite yummy, with leftovers for tomorrow. The chikin boobs turned out juicy and the drippin’s made for a fantastic gravy to go with the cornbread dressin’. I even had a can of cranberry sauce in the pantry. Since we are in for a rainy night in Jawja, I foresee an earlyish bedtime cause we do like to get in some good sleepin’ whilst it rains.

Lily I, too, hope it remains just a watch. A lot depends on how much water gets dumped not only here but north of us, as all that will come down stream on top of what we get. The big flood of '94 happened mostly because of the amount of rain that fell north of us.

Knotty enjoy the ice cream. It’s a well-deserved treat after a shot.

Herald if the mood strikes I say belt out a song. I kinda do in church, especially if’n it’s a hymn I like. FYI The Harlem Globetrotters adopted Sweet Georgia Brown as their theme song, but the song was originally recorded in 1932. That’s my stab at fightin’ ignernce today. Not that you are ignorant, mind you.

Mollie I would be hospitable with my good drinks and cookies. I’d let OYKW have some.

Cookie that was a nice surprise! Glad two of your spawn want to see you on Father’s Day.

BrightTree I hope your friend’s husband passes the kidney stone soonest and with the least possible pain. You are a good friend!

Nuts sometimes the local chip shop makes the best food around. Maybe not the healthiest, but sometimes ya just gotta. Hmm… I don’t think we have anything like an Eccles cake over here. I am, however, intrigued cause it sounds nummy.

Rocker that was a hoot! Loved the curses foiled again look on the cat’s face.

Kitten_Mitten I am not sure what I think about pineapple chikin sallit. Part of me thinks it would be as gross as puttin’ raisins in N.O.T. sallit. I have actually seen that done. I think that would be a reason to tell someone to bring only cups to the next potluck.

VanGo YIKES! Glad you and Ms. Peach survived the tornado warnin’.

After this last visit, Im definitely not seeing that guy anymore. On the second visit he took my flashlight.
Third, he took food out of my fridge and ate it.
So on May 24 he came by. Wanted to check his fb on my phone. I let him as long as I could get back into mine.
Done. So he says hes going out, will be back in 2 hours.
I check my phone and its screen locked. He locked it, didnt ask, didnt tell. Next day is Memorial day. My phone place isnt open.
I go to police station ( they know him well, lotta trespass). She tells me its not illegal. I thought it would be telecommunications theft.
She says its a civil matter.
They drive around, see him and get the pin number to unlock, and call and tell me the pin.
Yay.
Seriously though?
Next thing I know hes disappeared. Took me a minute to find he went to rehab. Again.
Glad hes gone. Certain he’ll return.

Bear in mind, I’m in southern Merrylande - about 3 miles from the pin on this map:
Imgur
So unless weather blobs are moving south and east of DC, they aren’t reaching me. Accuweather says we’ll maybe see rain around 11 tonight, then after 11 tomorrow morning. The weather channel site shows rain starting around 4AM and continuing till noonish. So spin the wheel and take your chances!

I started yawning around 8 - maybe that’s a sign? I’ll go pop half a Mel and see how it goes.

Evening all. Got a little gym work in and then spent 4 hours checking soccer teams and referees in for the tournament starting tomorrow. I was supposed to referee a couple ‘Soccerfest’ pick-up games but they got cancelled because it looked like a storm was coming…and the storm ended up missing us completely. Ah well, thanks to one of the volunteers having a birthday there were chocolate cupcakes… Home now and I have to be back over there about 7am tomorrow so it’ll be an early turn-in tonight.

And a busy day around the MMP, so best get down to it…

FCM, your dedication to yard work is impressive. And haven’t seen the Blue Angels in probably 40 years.

Cookie, I’d say don’t look to hard at a Nine Grand bonus, but might want to keep it in an account for awhile, just in case…

Bright Tree, thanks, I’ll let you know how the great coaster experiment goes in July.
And good on ya for being there for neighbor. Hope they do give you some gas money but glad it’s not too serious.

Nut, sounds like one of those days…which hopefully won’t be repeated anytime soon.

Cookie, so don’t be sad, I hear two out of three ain’t bad…

cat glove, that’s a great story about bestie, either way she should win in the end.

FCM, glad the light is shining once more on the boat. And glad Hubs is doing better.

JtC, hope the water stays out of the Kroger.

Coppertone, yeah, I wouldn’t be letting that guy anywhere close to you, and good work by the local cops.

And some soccer on the Tube in a few minutes, so take care and I’ll write again when I can.

After my senior year of High School, I served at Coventry Cathedral for a couple of weeks that summer. There was a chippy down the alley from Kennedy House, where I was staying. They had the best haddock. I’ve been chasing that high ever since.

Up from naptime, having a Royal Hawaiian. Dinner tonight is Smoked Paprika chicken(kicked up with cayenne pepper), Bojangles season cheesy potatoes, and a salad. Arthur has arrived. Spot is sacked out on the couch.

We’ve got enough canine Mumpets for it.

We had one that was a combo Miami Subs/Arthur Treacher’s. It’s now a Peruvian chicken joint.

The power keeps flickering.

doggio It looks like the storms have moved out.

It’s one of those evenings where I’m having a self-pity party.

A couple of days ago, some jean shorts arrived. I’m still trying to find some affirming clothes that I can still wear without attracting too much attention. I thought they were too tight. I asked Mrs Magill if she’d be embarrassed being seen with me wearing them. She said she didn’t think she’d ever be comfortable with me like this. I don’t think she thought about what she said, but it has sent me spiraling.

She’s like me, and words will come out my mouth that sound so much better in my head.

Mentally, I’m back where I was a couple of months ago and am questioning whether I can do this and whether I should have just kept it all in my head.

The curse of marrying someone who is very much like yourself fucking sucks, but who else would have put up with my shit for twenty-five years?

Once he gets a kidney stone, that’ll learn him quick.

They nest in trees now?

What a wonderful feeling, for her, and for you for facilitating this relief on her behalf.

Oh, that’s 150% what this is. Neither of us is kidding around or pretending this is something it’s not.

… and he’s been in “time out” for months, I’m surprised he poked (heh) back up in the 1st place.

But I’m tired and I got shit to do, and I’m just not ecstatic about the idea, yanno?

One of my besties has just entered the chat.

(Love that girl to death, but dang we have some stories about her.)

Honey, this is Murrica. What you’re describing might be characterized as a hate crime.

“Ahem” Mollie offspring.

Trust your judgment. Sometimes (especially online orders) clothes just aren’t gonna fit right, or look like the fancy pictures make them seem. I’d say at least 95% of us have fallen for this in one way or another (“WTF this isn’t friggin’ close!”) and hey, if it helps, welcome to the club!

That’s my awkward “there, there honey” { pat pat } attempt at assuring you, there’s no need to spiral. Just return the damn things, and try again from a different maker/different size.

Also, we all spiral. It’s okay. Just eat something fun, wash your face, push your shoulders back, and walk back out into the world.

(It’s okay to cry in a corner for a minute, too.)

Okay, now MEEEEE!

I’m tired, hungry (I work in a restaurant FFS) and there’s no chance in hell this Father’s Day card that I haven’t even written in yet is gonna make it on time.

Also, and I am so sorry, but my terlet could audition for that scene in “Trainspotting.”

I feel like a worn-out failure. Yeah, yeah, don’t give me the Mumper lecture. I need food, and some kitty snuggles. And the devil’s lettuce. And a magical fairy to clean my house. Oh, and ten thousand dollars would be helpful.

Some fraction of those desires will come true tonight. (Monkey is already velcro’d to my kneecap.)

Oh, holy banana Batman, I just found an email from my lovely management company, about doing an annual inspection.

1a.) it would fall right when I’m possibly gonna be fighting ICE having lovely tea with my mother, and

2b.) ahem, I was inspected in January. Did the word “annual” start to mean something different, or do y’all suddenly have a shitload of money to throw around?

I sent the most politely worded email I could muster up. Please remind me to check back and see if they, I dunno, checked their records?

Scones

From what I’ve heard, having not tried Murrican type biscuits, they’re not really the same, just the closest thing. Scones are often sweet, sometimes with dried fruit in them, though savoury cheese scones also exist, and they’re denser and crumblier. We also can’t agree on how to actually say the word.

Incidentally, I was pleased to note that Scone Palace cafe does indeed sell scones.

Another grey and looking to be soggy day, hopefully brightening up in the afternoon. I did not want to get out of bed this morning and I wish I could just crawl back in. I need to get the stuff done I was supposed to do yesterday though. Without messing up this time.

I certainly do, over the littlest damn things. shoe’s unspiraling (is too a word!) regimen is good advice. A cat cuddle with maybe a mug of fresh coffee for her to head bump and splash some on my shirt is good too. Sometimes I add muttering “this too shall pass”. And it does. I keep telling myself at least my life isn’t boring. I hate boring.

I’ve got a meezer licking my face and neck, then draping her purring self across the shelf of my bosom. That I then cannot see to read da Dope or reply to Mumpers bothers her not, not even a little.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. Spot is having Screaming Tuxedo Zoomies. It is current;y 75 Degrees Ferret Height(23.889 Centipedes).

So, English Bo-Berry biscuits

At least tell me you have plenty of TP.
