My Cup Runneth Over - A Stanley Cup MMP

:notes: *Did I ever tell you you’re my hero? *:notes: Well done!

VanGo that’s awesome! I hope you sell lots and lots and become famous and retire and a drain on society like Swampy. :bear:

Best wishes, VanGo, hope the merchandise moves fast and profitably.

{{Taters}}, enjoy your 4-days off, I suspect however that Tuesday may not be fun… And what is an MPA? Acronym Finder has 147 choices…). Somehow I managed my travel with the US government for 30 years without major hassle (well, there was the one trip that I had to cancel because my passport expired…).

Hippy, nice you’re remembered fondly. Haven’t been back in years to my old place, given the government they’ve probably moved three times and only 15% of the folks I worked with are still around.

    :joy:

Shopping has been completed, managed to sneak in below $200, and the electric bill is double last month due to the 90F weather, so good thing my retirement check got in the bank today. Heading for the swimmin’ part of the day here shortly.

Take care all.

Yesterday I hung out at the barn.It was 90, so Ariel got a bath. I got as wet as she did. Today I am soothing, watching Wimbledon. I wish I had a day drinking partner.

MPA stands for Management and Program Analyst. I don’t understand how these people are having such problems creating authorizations and vouchers, much less making sure they have their gov travel cards. In my particular org, you do not have the option of just selecting your personal card for hotels, transaction fees, or flights. They are forgetting to sign the documents (electronic sig) so the documents don’t route. They are not using the right accounting codes, even though they’ve all been provided. It’s not hard, it really isn’t. The system isn’t particularly user-friendly, but really all you have to do is keep hitting the next key until you get to sign. Create your itinerary (where you’re going, why, dates of each leg). Go to the Expenses tab and add in your hotel taxes, and if you booked the hotel without using the system, add the hotel and the appropriate per diem rate for lodging. If you use the system to book, it automatically inserts the lodging costs. Meals and incidentals are automatically entered for each day. Insert mileage if you’re using your private vehicle. Keep hitting next until you see the giant orange sign button. Sign. Voila! The document is routed. You may have to add a note if you’re using GOV before it will accept sig.

I actually created a slide deck with pictures and freakin’ arrows.

Tuesday will be bad because I have to finish up the contracting for movers and deal with the 500 emails that will be in my inbox. Not an exaggeration. I really get that many.

But, I just got done watering all my plants, mowing my lawn, and hosing off my back patio. In a bit, I’ll head back out there and plant some posies. Should be relaxing!

The one and only time I allowed myself to be in a supervisory position, I wrote a step by step procedure manual with pics and diagrams. It was much admired, rarely used.

I went to the post office around 10 and traffic on the highway was still pretty light. Gas has dropped a little and Prescott is a very popular July 4th destination. Actually, with this heat, anywhere north is a popular destination for anyone who lives in the Valley of the Sun.

I think I’m the only one in the area who mails postcards, I’m positive I bought two stamps from the same sheet as last year. The post office ladies got into a little tiff with each other because they couldn’t find the international stamps for a while and when the stamps were found snipped at each other for putting them in the wrong place. I’m so glad I’m retired.

I volunteer! Pick me, pick me!

I’m better at drinking than I am at cleaning up my language. Hope that’s not a deal breaker.

Tobester was napping but he just got up. Roxstar is watching Shimmer and Shine. The museum was surprisingly busy. I am exhausted. Two more hours.

Happy Somalian Independence Day. (I have a Somalian cow-orker.)

Home, exhausted, warming up some leftovers for supper. I may sleep with Mel tonight. Wrangling 2 kids all day is more than I want to do full time. Or even part time. They wear me out!!

Welcome back hippy! I’m glad that you received a warm welcome at your new old place of employment.

WTG VanGo! I hope that you sell as much as you want to sell.

Groceries are bought and I picked up a chicken dinner (2 pieces with okra, green beans and cornbread) while I was at the Pubic Sto’. They actually have pretty good fried chicken and fish. I was going to pick up a box of SF popscicles while I was there, but, damn! Popscicles have doubled in price since last summer. They had SF ice cream sandwiches on sale for $2.69, so I got a box of those.

I’m working on the organization some more tonight and will hopefully have it finished before heading back to irk Wednesday.

Howdy Y’all! Beer run was successful so everyone may now give a sigh of relief. N.O.L. from LJS got fetched and et as well. We have had rain off and on and worked on our sloth, nappage, and day drinkin’ skills. All in all, a not too shabby day in swampland.

VanGo yay for you! May you sell lots of stuff or all the stuff you want to sell.

Hippie glad you had a good visit at your old gig and got the VIP tour to boot.

Taters good for you! Sometimes you gotta put on the boss hat and show who’s boss. Glad I don’t have to do that anymore.

WetOne I have been known to day drink alone. Just sayin’.

Taking a break between walking to the pharmacy and walking to the gym. This pharmacy had the (hard to find) antihistamine I need and am almost out of, so whew!

I got to play with and pet a dog in our little dog park today. Man, that dog is smart! At the real dog park, she essentially trained two other dogs to bring balls to her when playing fetch with their owners. She’s also very sweet.

Today is the six-year anniversary of my moving to western Washington.

Taters, I salute you for your bada$s boss skills. I’m glad the rebel didn’t give you any lip.

VanGo, that’s great news! And I sure hope you raise your prices now that you know your stuff is worth more.

Hippy, what a great visit! And it must be nice to be missed, even though you’d never go back. Even if I lived closer, I don’t think I’d go back into the school where I taught. They turned the classroom where I taught the last 20 years of my career into the main office, and over the last 6 years, almost all the staff I knew either retired or moved on.

Happy Canada Day and Happy Somalian Independence Day!

Just got back from The Beach (‘Five-Star Dive Bar’). We had cheeseburgers and Manhattans. She had fries, I had salad.

Was your beer run anything like this one swampy? :stuck_out_tongue:

We went to the liquor store before the bar opened. (It’s next door.) The Missus bought some Jack Daniels, and I picked up a bottle of Kuma Turmeric Root Liqueur that was on close-out. (Looks like I got the last bottle.) I had some with ice. It was good, but way too sweet.

As we were leaving, the guy parked next to us said he other car is an MG. Turns out he lives up the street from us, and I told him I look for his Midget every time I pass. He said he was taken to task by some woman when he told her his car was a Midget. She thought it was disrespectful. She also had never heard of MG or Morris Garage.

When we were leaving the bar after our early dinner, a guy said he liked my car, and that his first car was a '73 MGB. I told him my first car was a '66 MGB, and that my current one is a copy (but with overdrive).

F***is my favorite word. We’ll get along fine.

It’s hard to form sentences without my favorite words sometimes. Oh f*ck :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Actually, I avoid it as much as possible (except for comedic effect). If I say it, you know I’m urinated!

Up from naptime. Having a Sazarac, and making some Cajun style catfish stew for dinner.

Yay for you, Vago!

Y’all drink and swear? I’m f*ckin’ in! :clinking_glasses:

Yeah, I’m feeling “Happy Canada Day” more than “Happy Redneck Venezuela with Nukes Day” this year.

This morning I went for a mammogram, and when I got dressed I put on my new smaller jeans and a new smaller t-shirt I recently got…and I felt kind of cute! Then I felt kind of annoyed, because I had to wait 45 minutes for my appointment. But then I felt kind of happy, because I got to tell the tech that I’d lost 70 pounds since my last mammogram! All in all, a good morning (and good results).

Lately I’ve been going to the grocery store whenever I’m already out, so I stopped on the way back from my appointment. While looking for sugar-free-chocolate-covered almonds, I found honey-roasted sesame sticks. Much less sugar than I would have guessed, and I love sesame sticks, so I bought them. So good!! I think it was a mistake, though, because I could definitely see easily overeating them. I’ll be careful with the rest of the bag, but won’t get them again.

Happy move-i-versary!

Tomorrow will be the 24-year anniversary of my moving to Northern Virginia.
