My dog nibbles on stuff

It’s really weird and very annoying at times.
She nibbles on my sheets, blankets and pillows like dogs do when they are trying to nibble away an itch.
I’ve checked out her mouth and there doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with her teeth that I can see or anything stuck between them.
She’s a jack russell and isn’t as hyper as I thought she would be, so maybe the nibbling is an outlet? I’ve read they can be diggers when they are bored.
But she doesn’t do this only when she’s bored. She nibbles all the time.
Anyone else have a dog that does this?

Mine nibbles (and licks) to get my attention. He’ll do it on my desk chair (while I’m sitting in it) or the couch (while we’re sitting on it). He used to do it to me and my clothes (it seemed like just a demonstration of affection - but i put a stop to it rather quickly). So I’m accustomed to wet spots on upholstery. I’ll probably care more when I am in a position to acquire nicer furniture.

He certainly doesn’t do it all the time, tho. He does chew stuff a lot tho - does yours chew on things too? His favourites are old stuffed animals to tear apart, and safety-cut hooves.

She only chews on her toys. Some dogs pick the oddest things. She has this plain blue hard rubber ring and a plain orange hard rubber horseshoe.
The nibbling is enough to drive a person batty!
We have six children in the house and about 20 that don’t belong to me that wander in and out so I couldn’t imagine she could be bored.
She has a big dog and a kitten to play with when there aren’t humans around.
I will admit I think it got worse after we had another jack russell for about a month that died. Parvo is horrid and he was just over a year but from what we could tell no shots. We were supposed to be a halfway house for the dog and he was going to a friend and we fell in love with him. He belonged to a girl who was 18 and had a horrid accident and couldn’t take care of him anymore. He got sick before we got him to our vet.

I’ve heard that Jack Russells can chew (or maybe in her case nibble) because of boredom and stress. Maybe it’s the stress of losing her buddy?

The dog that played Eddie on Frasier (Moose) completely ruined his teeth chewing on his crate door before he became a performing animal.

I never used to be able to let my dog sleep on my bed because she’s nibble a little hole in the comforter and then pull the stuffing out piece by piece. I’d wake up to a flat spot and a pile of cotton balls on the bed. Now that she’s three and a bit, she only does it under stress or to this one particular comforter that she just can’t seem to leave alone.

Annoying.
