Blue, I’m glad you got off lightly. It takes a special combination of bad luck, naivete, and all around bad judgement to end up with a wife and subsequent ex like I did.
Kelli, I probably could get custody, except that the Canadian family courts are notariously biased against fathers. Also I can’t afford another 30 grand in legal fees and furthermore my ex might just flip out and kill us all.
Silver, thanks. No it’s not over. Unless something completely unexpected happens, it won’t be over for another 9 years. She will not get the help she needs. That would imply that she’d have to acknowledge that she was wrong, which will never happen, and she’d also have to accept that she needs meds. This too has an improbablility factor roughly equivalent to me winning the lotto without buying a ticket.
As for reasons to feel bitter, shit. This is only the tip of the iceberg. A rough draft outline.
I have only two things to say.
First, every time I hear a story like this, it reminds me why I’m going to law school in a year.

Dewt man, I really feel for you! Im being really sincere here. Ive fought the battles and won some and lost others too, and it’s horrible that the CJS and Family courts do us that way. I have my own “Fucking EX” story I may share when Im ready to. But I just had to say something to you and let you know you’re not alone.
