My favorite cake

First, a layer of white cake, then,
A layer of frosting, then,
Another layer of frosting, and finally,
Some …uh… sweet stuff.

Anyone else have a favorite or wants me to make my favorite for them?

Bob

I made this cake for myself for my birthday. There’s a thread on it I started on June 12th. It’s my favourite: yellow cake with chocolate frosting. No cake pan, so I used a frying pan. I didn’t know you had to let them cool for a long time before putting the frosting on.

I like devil’s food cake with strawberry filling between the layers and whipped cream frosting.

This thread is better suited for IMHO. I’ll move it for you.

Carrot cake with cream cheese icing or choklit cake :stuck_out_tongue:

Angel Food. Nothing on it except maybe some fresh strawberries.

Obligatory MMMMMMM Pie! link

Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Frsoting - yum!

um, frosting, dammit!

===================================
My mom makes that cake with something called “elegant icing.”
Wonder if it’s the same thing?

Mmmmmmmm…

I’m a big fan of Black Forrest cake. MMMmmmm. Oh, and there’s also Tres Leches cake, oh man, and I made a Raspberry Charlottle Royale the other day. It isn’t exactly a cake, but cake is one of the components of it.

Cheesecake.

More cheesecake.

Lots of cheesecake.

These are the cakes I like, and make.

Devil’s Food Chocolate Bundt Cake with warm Chocolate Icing drizzled.

I am also partial to Coconut Cake, Yellow Cake with
Cream Cheese icing with lots of Coconut.

And finally Black Forest Cake.

My mom would bake a white cake, let it cool and then poke hoels in it. Then she would make jello and pour it over the cake while the jello was still hot. You then put it in the fridge and let it cool off. After it is cool, cover it with cool whip.

I make my family’s favorite birthday cake:

  1. French vanilla cake cut into four layers
  2. Put first layer on plate, spread with apricot filling
  3. Add cake layer, spread with raspberry filling
  4. Add cake layer, spread with apricot filling
  5. Add last cake layer, and frost the entire thing with cream cheese frosting.

We call it “birthday torte.”

BUTTERCAKE!!! And not that "butter flavored pound cake " that they have in stores im talking about buttercake. its like this good thick melted butter and sugar ooze on top with a thin little wafer cake on bottom so far i have only seen buttercake in certain bakeries in larger cities that still HAVE REAL bakeries

Give me a piece of German Chocolate Cake and you own me.

Tiramisu…

Chocolate cake with lots of vanilla icing. I will eat plain vanilla icing. If there’s icing left on the box or a plate, I’m there.

But the best cake is Junior’s Cheesecake. It is to regular cheesecake what a Rolls Royce is to a skateboard.

My favorite cake:

This almond buttercream cake from the Cake Bible.

(It takes like 3 lbs of butter and 18 eggs or something like that. It ends up melting in your mouth!)

Make 3 9inch cake layers, cut them in half.

Now, working from the bottom to the top:

Cake
Layer of Irishcream/white chocolate mousse (sp?)
Cake
Tart rasberry filling
Cake
More Irishcream/white chocolate mousse
Cake
Rasberry filling
Cake
Irishcream/white chocolate mousse
Cake

Now take 18 ozs of bittersweet premium chocolate, powder that in the food processor. Then scald 18oz of heavy cream and pour that in the food processor and blend!

Then transfer to a bowl, whip by hand and chill

Pour the frosting over the cake.
