OK, it’s only the House. But under the circumstances, that’s well worth a gloat!
“Only the House” we might not have appointment approving powers (yet) be we have subpoena and impeachment powers. Hopefully Rumsfleld will be on trial by summer.
Moderate independent checking in.
I really, really hope we won’t see much of the Republican-style slash-and-burn governing out of the Dems, regardless of how many seats they pick up.
Somebody’s gotta start acting like the grownups in Congress, and since the Republicans are obviously not up to the task these days, it’s up to the Dems to restore the public’s faith in government. Don’t let us down.
I’m not gonna celebrate yet. I want both houses to fall, damnit.

The House is ours, the Senate is still up in the air. I’m happy, but I don’t gloat. Not my style. You’re welcome to my share of the gloating. CNN says one independant in the Senate, so I’m confused. CBS said Lieberman and Sanders both won; which one is CNN not recognizing yet?
I’m not a Democrat but as a liberal independent I will do a dance of solidarity with you.
I voted for almost all Dems plus 1 Republican, 2 Libertarians, 1 for Mickey Mouse and 1 for Nick Hexum.

Problem is,that until campaign reform happens ,both parties have to kow tow to the money men. Therefore ,no differerence.

Independent here but I’m glad the Dems won the house so hopefully we can see a little more balance in political power.
My wife and I cracked out the champagne and danced around the living room when CNN called the House for our side. My 9-year-old son spent the evening with us in front of the television calling out the numbers as the different races finished. Whoo-hoo! 12 years I’ve been waiting for this evening!
