In case you are wondering, the dance resembles that of Snoopy on Schroeders piano.

You guys done good? I’d better go and check the papers.
I’m not a Republican coz I don’t live in the US, but anyway, congratulations from another evil, evil conservative.
I tell ya, they only come out at night.
And Snoopy was a Libertarian.
Yes! Right-wing brothers of the world unite! For tonite is a time of celebration, and goofy dances!

I won’t gloat. I’m happy, but I won’t get nasty toward my Democratic brethren, who fought a good fight, and will undoubtedly win another day.
But there’s ONE guy to whom I wish to extend both middle fingers, and laugh heartily:
Hey, Jeffords! Yeah, you- James Jeffords! How does it feel to be the most irrelevant man in U.S. Senate history? The GOP no longer needs you to get a majority, so they’ll NEVER offer you any goodies to win your fickle vote. And the Democrats now see that you’re useless to them, so they’ll no longer try to woo you.
You’re the odd man out. NOBODY on either side respects you, NOBODY on either side needs you, and you now wield ZERO power.
Enjoy it, Mr. “Man of Principle.” (Wonder if the people of VErmont will STILL love you, when they figure out you’re now powerless to bring home any pork barrel or dairy subsidies?)
Joins Muad’Dib in the Republican Happy Dance
HAHAHA Eat THAT you bleeding heart liberals!
Sucks to be a Republican in Illinois, especially Chicago, right now though.
Uh, last time I did something like this, in November 2000, there were a few Dopers who didn’t take it in the spirit intended.
Federal judge logjam? What federal judge logjam?

Good day for Republicans! :>
I’m disappointed that Bredesen won the governor’s race but Hell we had a damned Republican trying to force an income tax down our throats, I at least expect the Democrats to lie to me about raising taxes. ;>
Lamar Alexander goes to the senate. Cool.
And we get a Lottery. Cool.
All in all I’m pleased
Congrats!
Now that you have re-created the Reagan administration, perhaps you should do a rough cost/benefit analysis of likely consequences.
To the last few Americans making decent wages in jobs which could, conceivably, be exported, repeat after me:
“Would you like fries with that?”
Oh yes, I assume you are volunteering for combat roles in the upcoming adventurisms in the M.E/C.A./N.A., right?
I’m not going to do too much dancing, as I try to be respectful towards my liberal counterparts.
I’m cheering on the inside though.
Well, that’s one of the reasons I’m thinking of a career as a reporter…
happy dance
I’m doing the happy happy joy joy dance also. Respectfully, of course.
The best was Kathleen Kennedy Townsend losing her bid for the Maryland governorship. She must have run the second most inept campaign of the whole show. I mean, Maryland is one of the most heavily Democratic states (2-1 registered Democrats), and she still couldn’t win.
WHOO HOO!
My happy dance is the church lady dance from SNL. Skip step forward with a pelvec thrust and that rubber arm thing. I’m doing it all over the house and getting strange looks from my cat Stumpy.
Can’t wait till the Uber Wench gets home from work so I can really
celebrate.
Yeh Jeffords, from senate whore to lame duck in one night.
Mensch
Well I’ll join you in the one-legged version of the dance as I am not a Republican but I did vote for several Republican candidates, namely Elizabeth Dole, but she only replaced Jesse Helms in a Republican held seat anyway. So no gain there just a continuation. Also, the very first female Senator from the State of North Carolina. Her political experience, compared to the relative inexperience of her opponent, plus I just like her views, caught my vote. But I also voted for several Democrats. I hate having to have a party affiliation…I just want to vote for the person, not the party.
What about the checks and balances, though?
Is that the Log-Cabin-Republican Happydance?
Gotta say, when I read the title of the thread, I had this absolutely hysterical image of Bush, Bill O’Reilly, Lott, Pataki and Libby Dole doing the Time Warp across the South Lawn…
It’s a pretty perk day here in Georgia. Not only did Saxby Chambliss pull through a tight Senate race, but we have ourselves a Republican Governor for the first time in 130 years.
Heck, even the 28 year Democratic speaker of the state house lost.
Quite the change in state politics in one day.
Congratulations to all the Republicans, from a yellow-dog Democrat.
You do realize, of course, that after your party has run the country flat into the ground (it is bound to happen, I’m sorry to tell you), the Dems will sweep both the White House, Senate, and House. That’s just the way the cycle works.
Again, congratulations and enjoy yourselves.
