My First "YouTube" Pitting?

Hell, my first “Pitting” even, but I just had to share…

It was brought to my attention by another prolific poster here, via PM*, that shadowofneo — a fleeting member who was banned before anyone could say “bong water” — had gone through the trouble to record and post a video of himself on YouTube ranting about a thread he’d started here last May, which itself made about as much sense as Sarah Palin trying to explain Quantum Chromodynamics after downing 8 or 9 Ambien.

The original thread is here, (“My Personal Theory of Everything (Kaleidoscopic Reality)”) which I’d almost completely forgotton about, probably because the OP broke something important in my brain.

And his 10+ minute YouTube post-ban rant is here, which looks like Charlie Sheen employing the Chewbacca Defense.

I’d try to give the Cliff Notes version, but I just don’t know where to start. There’s just too much awesome spread all over the original OP and his video.

I will say that if the reason for his banning was because two accounts were created on the same IP, reeking of sockitude violation, the Mods might want to take another look. In the video (time - 1:42), he does make an attempt that it really was himself, shadowofneo and his fiancee, tink222. If this is truly the case, and why he was banned, I’ll be the first to say his and his fiancee’s user should be reinstated.

But that’s about the only semi-sound case he makes. I fully accept being a douchebag and wouldn’t have changed one word in my replies, but I think he misunderstood the point of these boards in that he thought he was here to fight our ignorance, not the other way around.

I saw this video a couple of months ago and was going to mention this but then refrained from doing so. Then I saw this thread and I thought that cmyk may be raising this subject again, and I was right.

While I believe him that tink222 isn’t a sock, he doesn’t seem to understand that showing two facebook pages doesn’t prove jack.

Also, he figured out time travel, it’s easy, really. Just make sure the engines are bolted on really tight and find a universe with different conditions then the big bang, yup, that’s all there is to it. Oh, and something about the other universe having a lack of light, or a slower speed of light. He lost me somewhere in the ramble.

I think it’s because he was banned before he was able to finish his Kalidoscopic Theory of Everything. I mean, you can only type so fast on a Nokia, it wasn’t his fault. Now we’ll never know!

Almost as surprised as me. I notice he has quite a few video game reviews on his YouTube channel, all ranging from 0 to 5 views, max.

Oh, I noticed that he had uploaded 937 videos and has apparently learned nothing about what makes an interesting or engaging video. (If you’re going over 10 minutes, you better be throwing shade or I’m clicking away.)

Oh, god, don’t I know it. But given that without hesitation, he bluntly states his fiancée isn’t here right now because she’s out bra shopping with her mom, I’ll believe he has no ability to discern the fine line of being candid or juggle the flaming chainsaws of deceit.

I’ll grant him the benefit of the doubt on this one.

It won’t stream on my iPad, but I can’t wait to watch it on my desktop tomorrow.

Not what I’m saying at all, but once you take in his attitude about the whole thing, it became obvious to me, he thought the board’s motto meant this was a place to fight ignorance overtly, and without anyone asking for his opinion or question his “ignorance fighting” in the first place.

If you look at the analytics, the views on that video have started going up quite quickly since yesterday.

I never really thought about it but the title “Straight Dope” and the tagline “fighting ignorance” could attract a lot of conspiracy theorists just meandering the internet.
